George and Amal Clooney are so moved by the students at Stoneman Douglas High School in the wake of their horrible tragedy that not only are they flying in to attend a scheduled demonstration against gun violence, they are also donating $500,000 to help fund the event.
In a statement to The Blast, George Clooney said, "Amal and I are so inspired by the courage and eloquence of these young men and women from Stoneman Douglas High School."
He adds, "Our family will be there on March 24 to stand side by side with this incredible generation of young people from all over the country,
and in the name of our children Ella and Alexander, we’re donating 500,000 dollars to help pay for this groundbreaking event."
The March for Our Lives is scheduled to go down in Washington DC and was announced by the teen survivors from last week's Florida school shooting that took the lives of 17 people and injured more.
One of those students made it clear, "This isn't about the GOP. This isn't about the Democrats. This is about the adults. We feel neglected and at this point, you're either with us or against us."
George and Amal Clooney echo those same passionate feelings regarding the importance of a demonstration, bluntly saying "Our children’s lives depend on it.”
