Elvis Presley’s daughter has been at WAR with her ex-business manager, Barry Siegel, for years now — after she claims he squandered a large chunk of her $100 million fortune.
As we reported, she claims the massive Elvis fortune was reduced to $14,000 along with another half a million in debt. She blames bad investments made with her previous manager as the problem.
The singer claims in legal documents that “through his reckless and negligent mismanagement and self-serving ambition” she says he put her money, “in risky ventures in hopes of attaining his own celebrity in the entertainment industry.”
LMP claims Siegel sold 85% of her interest in Elvis Presley Enterprises to help himself align with other famous individuals. She says he, “put his own best interests ahead of her in order to put himself in proximity to [the investor] and his celebrity circle.”
Interestingly, one of his arguments is that she is that broke. He says some of his investments actually turned out to be a big success. He blames LMP’s lavish spending as the reason for such massive losses in the Elvis fortune.
“It’s clear Lisa Marie is going through a difficult time in her life and looking to blame others instead of taking responsibility for her actions.” He says, “The 2005 deal she is complaining about now cleared up over $20 million in debts Lisa had incurred and netted her over $40 million cash and a multi-million-dollar income stream, most of which she managed to squander in the ensuing years,” the ex-managers attorney told The Blast.
Lisa Marie Presley is fighting a legal war on TWO fronts, she is still in the middle of a nasty custody battle with her ex-husband.
The case made headlines recently after Presley rushed to court to get permission for her kids to travel to Graceland for Elvis’s 85th birthday celebration. She claimed her Ex would not let the kids go to the event.
In the custody case, both Lisa Marie and her ex-husband Michael Lockwood, have made nasty allegations against the other.
At this point, both cases are ongoing — and everything is on hold until mid-summer.
