Disney Channel star, Cameron Boyce, died at 20-years-old after suffering a seizure while battling an ongoing illness.
The tragic news was first reported by ABC News, who said they confirmed Boyce’s death with his family.
Boyce is best known for playing Luke Ross on the Disney Channel series, “Jessie,” and also as the voice of Jake on the popular Disney Junior animated show, “Jake and the Neverland Pirates.”
A statement from Boyce’s family read, “It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we report that this morning we lost Cameron.”
It continued, “He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated.”
He lived in Los Angeles, however his family did not say if he was at home when he passed.
Boyce’s family says, “The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him.”
It’s unclear what type of illness the star was battling, but his death has taken everyone by complete surprise.
Boyce posted a photo of himself just one day ago, and fans are now commenting on the post, praying and hoping that the announcement is not real.
Boyce recently became very actively in politics, and even introduced former Vice President Joe Biden at the Biden Courage Awards back in March.
Boyce will be appearing in the upcoming Disney movie, “Descendants 3,” directed by Kenny Ortega.
The late star reprised his role as Carlos, the son of Cruella De Vil.
The movie is set to premiere on August 2, 2019.
Along with Disney projects, Boyce played Adam Sandler’s spoiled son in the 2010 comedy, “Grown Ups.”
He was also extremely philanthropic, and raised over $27,000 back in 2017 for the Thirst Project, which helps bring clean water to underdeveloped countries.
