Debby Ryan has kept silent in the days following the death of her friend and former co-star, Cameron Boyce.
On Tuesday, however, she publicly expressed her grief on social media by posting a short video of the two hugging, with a simple caption of a broken heart.
The video is cut from an episode of the Disney Channel series, “Jessie,” in which the two played the starring roles.
Fans were so worried about the impact 20-year-old Boyce’s death would have on Ryan, that some even theorized that she had fallen ill in the wake of his death.
As we reported, Boyce’s official cause of death has not been determined, as officials need to run toxicology tests following his autopsy.
Even though the tests will take several weeks to produce a result, Boyce’s family strongly believes the Disney star died after suffering a seizure while sleeping.
Law enforcement sources tell The Blast, Boyce’s family told investigators the star had a history of epileptic seizures.
Boyce’s family also released a statement, telling his fans, “The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him.”
Since his death, tributes from celebrities and co-stars have been pouring in.
“Grown Ups” co-star Adam Sandler wrote a touching tribute, and said that Boyce, “Cared so much about the world. Thank you, Cameron, for all you gave to us. So much more was on the way. All our hearts are broken. Thinking of your amazing family and sending our deepest condolences.”
“Descendants 3” co-star Dove Cameron shared a cast picture of Boyce, and simply wrote, “no words . words will come later.”
Boyce’s family is thankful for the love and support from fans, but his father admitted the ordeal is a “nightmare.”
Victor Boyce wrote to fans, “I’m overwhelmed with the love and support our family has received. It really does help to ease the pain of this nightmare I can’t wake up from. I can’t thank you guys enough.”
