The Internet spread a very false rumor about actress Debby Ryan.
On Saturday, actor Cameron Boyce died suddenly at 20 years-old. His family said the cause of death was a seizure related to an ongoing illness he had been battling.
In the immediate wake of his tragic passing, many of his co-stars from his various TV shows and films shared their thoughts and tributes about Boyce. But one person who was silent on social media was his “Jessie” co-star Debby Ryan.
Her lack of a pubic statement led fans to bombard her Instagram posts with negative comments. Ryan eventually was forced to shut comments off.
But then things got even more bizarre as a rumor began spreading around social media that Ryan wasn’t commenting on Boyce because she suffered a heart attack and was rushed to the hospital. That was completely fabricated.
On Monday morning, Ryan posted a video of Boyce to her Instagram story in which he speaks about making the world a better place:
“It’s crazy. We can tweet whatever we want and we can use social media and Instagram and make the world a better place instead of a worse one, which so many people use it for. But we need to use our resources and what we have. We’re all in here wearing suits. We need to use what we have to make the world a better place for other people, other people, people who need us!”
As of this writing, Ryan has not made any additional comment or statement about Boyce.
