Bruno Mars Sued For $1 Million, Accused of Blowing Off Concert

Bruno Mars is accused of screwing over a concert promoter and has been slapped with a $1-million-dollar lawsuit.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, a concert promotion and booking company named Major Entertainment is suing Bruno (real name: Peter Hernandez) and publicist, Michelle Reece.

The concert promoter claims to have entered into a deal with Reece in July 2017. The suit claims Reece portrayed herself as Bruno’s rep.

The deal was for Bruno to perform in Springfield, Missouri on October 23, 2017. The suit explains, “This concert was a special engagement because the date was an open date during the Bruno Mars “24k Magic” World Tour (with dates Little Rock, Arkansas set for October 22, 2017 and Houston, Texas on October 24, 2017.)”

Reece was paid a total of $77,800 in wire transfers. The promoter believed the concert would bring in $1.6 million, which Bruno would be paid from.

The promoter claims to have spent a ton of money to prepare. They paid for ticket sales, rehearsals, the venue, advertising and security. They also booked Bruno’s transportation, hotel rooms, dressing rooms, security and food.

The suit claims shortly before the concert Reece told them Bruno “would not perform on October 23.”

“As a result of the cancellation of the concert, Plaintiff suffered losses of approximately $77,800 advanced to secure the concert, lost business opportunities associated with the commitment to the Bruno Mars concert, and lost the expected revenue and earnings from the Bruno Mars concert.”

The promoter also believes Reece never had any contract or confirmation he was available. They are suing Bruno and Reece for in excess of $1 million dollars in damages.
