Dr. Barris is affiliated with Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and also has an office out of Encino.
It's unclear what caused the split between the two, who have been married since 1999.
The couple has 6 children together.

Even though his personal life may be at a crossroads, Kenya's professional life is booming after he left ABC Studios to sign a longterm studio deal with Netflix.
According to reports, Kenya will produce exclusively for Netflix for the next three years, with an option to extend for another two.
"Kenya Barris is one of our great modern storytellers,” said Netflix VP, Cindy Holland.
She added, "Kenya uses his voice to make audiences more aware of the world around them, while simultaneously making them laugh. His honesty, comedic brilliance and singular point of view, combined with the creative freedom he will enjoy at Netflix, promises to create powerful new stories for all our members around the world."
The deal is reportedly worth upwards of $100 million dollars, and catapults Kenya into the upper echelon of Hollywood producers.
Even though he's out of ABC, Kenya will still serve as executive producer on "Black-ish," as well as it's spinoff show, "Grown-ish."
