"The Bachelorette" star who won over Becca Kufri's heart has put his hometown on the map and the small California city is nothing but proud and excited for their newest hometown hero, Garrett Yrigoyen.
The City Manager of Manteca, CA, Tim Ogden, tells The Blast: "Manteca felt honored and privileged to have a local Mantecan on a national stage."
Praising the 29-year-old, the statement continues acknowledging Garrett for his family values and good nature which "our City is proud to be recognized for." Of course, the season didn't go without a little drama and Garrett was center focus.
Facing backlash in the past for liking several controversial social media posts, including mocking transgender people and feminism, which he later apologized for. However, the 209 has his back, telling us, "We look forward to welcoming Becca and Garrett back to Manteca anytime with open arms."
During the season, the couple traveled to Manteca, nicknamed "The Family City," where Becca met Garrett's kin and even got her hands a little dirty.
Fun Fact: "Rick and Morty" creator Justin Roiland is also from Manteca! The city was also known for having a pretty sweet waterpark back in the day, but it closed in 2004.
