According to Dylan, as Dick prepared to get into an Uber, he was "sucker-punched" by an unknown assailant. Dylan says that Dick his a motorcycle as he fell to the ground and his head hit the pavement.

Dick told the paper he was "knocked out 100 percent for 15 minutes."

According to Dick, he was transported by ambulance to the hospital and observed for what he called "possible brain bleed."

Dick, best known for his role on the 1990s NBC show “NewsRadio,” has a history of provoking people with his antics but Robert Couvillion, who is promoting Dick's appearances in New Orleans, said his performance was relatively tame.

Couvillion told the paper, "Andy was on his best behavior. Some of his shows are a little wilder. Every show is different. This show was mostly storytelling. He didn’t disrespect anyone."

After the incident, Couvillion said he and another man chased the assailant but were unable to catch up to the person.

Dick was forced to cancel a show on Saturday night and showed up to another event on Sunday night in a wheelchair but did not perform.

A New Orleans Police Department spokesman said they were investigating the incident but so far no arrests have been made.
