While many people are stuck on the notion that Megan Fox is just the bombshell from Transformers, she has actually worked to center her image in recent years to something that feels more authentic to her.
Fox has a lot of essential things to say about feminism and the #MeToo movement and is very focused on being a good mom to her three kids with husband Brian Austin Green.
Like most celebrity mothers, Fox has faced a deluge of “mommy-shamers” who have lots to say about how she raises her sons Noah, 6, Bodhi, 5, and Journey, 3. A few years back, people were up in arms on Instagram when her son Noah wore a Frozen themed dress. People are also weirdly angry about how Fox allows her boys to wear their hair long.
In a recent visit to The Talk, Fox opened up about Noah’s creative side and how she’s not forcing him to adhere to strict gender norms.
“He designs. He draws outfits. He’s very talented, but he’s still 6. He’s really into fashion. Sometimes, he’ll dress himself and he likes to wear dresses sometimes. I send him to a really liberal, like, hippie school. But even there, in California, he still has little boys going, ‘Boys don’t wear dresses,’ or ‘Boys don’t wear pink.'”
For her, it is most important that her boys know that she has their back and that confidence is key.
“We’re going through that now, where I’m trying to teach him to be confident no matter what anyone else says. He came home and I was like, ‘How was it? Did any of the friends at school have anything to say?’ And he was like, ‘Well, all the boys laughed when I came in,’ but he’s like, ‘I don’t care, I love dresses too much.'”
