Stage 4 Diagnosis:

“It’s going to come out in a matter of days or a week that I’m stage 4. So my cancer came back, and that’s why I’m here,” Shannen Doherty said during the interview. “I don’t think I’ve processed it. It’s a bitter pill to swallow in a lot of ways.” The actress, who is best known for her "90210" role as Brenda Walsh and being one of the three sisters in "Charmed," revealed she's struggled with the idea that her cancer has returned after first being diagnosed in 2015. Admitting she's thought "Why me?” on several occasions, the star revealed that thought quickly goes out of her brain. “And then I go, well, ‘Why not me? Who else? Who else besides me deserves this?’ None of us do," she added.

Her Message To Fans:

While she's been quiet on social media since her "Good Morning America" interview, Shannen Doherty broke her silence on Tuesday. Sharing a post showing her on a horse riding through an open field, the actress began her message writing, "I want to thank all of you for your love, prayers and support. It’s an odd time right now and I find my feet not completely underneath me." She continued by trying to put her feelings into words. "To say I have stress is an understatement. To say that I’m struggling is mild. But... I believe that I will find my footing," she added.

Keeping The Diagnosis Quiet:

Keeping an optimistic mindset, Shannen Doherty said she'll "dig deep for the inner strength I need to face it all," and said, "I pray I do it all with dignity and grace." Telling her fans that she has so much more to say and promising she will with time, the star ended her message saying, "For now... please know how much you all help lift me." During her "GMA" interview, Shannen Doherty revealed she wanted to keep her stage 4 cancer diagnosis private was because of Luke Perry's death. It’s so weird for me to be diagnosed and then somebody who was, you know, seemingly healthy to go first,” Shannen Doherty recalled.
