UPDATE

11:54 PM PT -- According to Lutfi's opposition filing to the restraining order, he claims to have not contacted Britney since 2009, and does not believe text messages to Lynne Spears and tweets about the singer should result in a restraining order.

Lutfi also says he has not caused "substantial emotional distress" to Britney, and believes her team's move to block his public comments is a restraint on free speech.

In fact, Lutfi claims he was the one who has been disparaged by Britney, arguing that she accused him of forgery and impersonation in the video she posted weeks ago.

However, regardless of Lutfi's argument, the judge in the case felt there was a need for protection and granted the restraining order. He must stay at least 200 yards away from the singer, her parents and her kids.

After the hearing, Lutfi's attorney told The Blast, "We are Disappointed in the results. We feel this is overly broad and violates Mr. Lutfi’s constitutional rights. This is only temporary and we look forward To arguing the matter more fully at the hearing for a more permanent restraining order on May 28th."

Sam Lutfi is fighting back against the temporary restraining order filed by Britney Spears and her legal team, however a judge ordered him to stay away and granted Britney's request.

As The Blast first reported, Spears filed for a TRO against her former manager, asking for him to stay away from her, her father, mother and two sons.

Spears' legal team, and her father Jamie, were all in court Wednesday when a judge approved the temporary order.

According to the documents, Spears' legal team claims Lutfi has been sending harassing and threatening texts and tweets to Britney Spears and her family.

They claim Lutfi’s actions have caused “severe mental trauma” while interfering with her life.

Spears’ legal team claims Lutfi is trying to disrupt Britney’s conservatorship through calls for “vigilante action, bribes and release of private information.” They claim his actions are problematic for Britney’s safety and well-being and make it clear they need him kept away to “prevent future harm and further psychological trauma.”

Lutfi was Britney Spears' manager in the early 2000s and her family holds him responsible for her mental downfall in 2008.

He later sued Britney’s parents after Lynne accused him of being the “gatekeeper” and contributing to Britney’s illness, and the two parties settled for an undisclosed amount.
