‘Brady Bunch’ House Set to Undergo $350,000 Worth of Renovations

HGTV is going big on the renovation of the famed “Brady Bunch” house, with planning documents revealing they will be spending more than $350,000 on the remodel.

According to official city records obtained by The Blast, HGTV filed an application permit on October 31, in which they are seeking permission to work on the “interior kitchen remodel/repair (no changes in walls or openings).” The estimated cost of this work is $2,000 and they have already hired contractors.

On November 5, a separate permit was filed for the home to add a 40’9” X 24’8″ ground floor addition for new kitchen and family room with 8’3” x 24’8” covered patio.

Additional improvements include a 63’6″ X 24’8” second-floor addition for new bedrooms as part of a “major interior remodel.”

The total estimated cost for the work in the second permit comes to $350,000. The amount it cost to just file the permit with the City of Los Angeles came to $19,341. A blueprint (below) was also included in the filing.

Back in August, HGTV announced they were the mysterious $3 million buyer of the famous house on “The Brady Bunch” and swooped in to outbid Lance Bass, who announced he was the highest bidder before being informed otherwise.

The network revealed they had plans to restore the home to its 1970s glory and document the renovations for a new television show.

Earlier this month, several main cast members reunited at the home to shoot for HGTV’s new show, including Maureen McCormick, Christopher Knight, Susan Olsen, Mike Lookinland, Eve Plumb and Barry Williams.
