Porn Star August Ames Had Cocaine, Anti-Depressants, Marijuana and Other Drugs in Her System When She Died

August Ames had cocaine, marijuana, anxiety and depression medications all in her system when she took her own life.

According to the toxicology report from the Ventura County Medical Examiner's Office, Ames had taken the generic forms of both Zoloft and Xanax. She also had several different metabolites from cocaine and marijuana in her system, as well as a drug used to treat seizures.

The case report says that a marijuana pipe was found near her body on the day she killed herself and a bottle of anxiety medication was found in her car.

Her husband, Kevin Moriarty, told police that Ames had tried to commit suicide last summer by ingesting a large amount of prescription medications. He also stated he had found a rope in her car in the past.

Moriarty said Ames had recently gone through a tough time after she tried to reach out to her estranged father, but he refused to see her. He also told police that Ames had recently been spending a lot of time on social media where she "made controversial comments on Twitter and she received 'a lot of hate mail.'"

As The Blast previously reported, Ames was under fire from fans and other performers in the adult entertainment community and was being labeled a "homophobe" after she had tweeted about not wanting to work with an actor who had done gay porn.

Moriarty told police the backlash she received from her statements had taken a toll on her.

Ames passed away on December 5. She was found around 3:45 AM hanging in a public park 20 minutes from her home in Camarillo.

The Ventura County Medical Examiner told The Blast at the time that a note was discovered in Ames’ car apologizing for committing suicide.
