Now, there's the story about Adam Sandler and his encounter with Harrison Ford, who made a strange request at a house party.
Sandler opened up about how he met Ford, and what led to the request that caught him off guard. It was so mind-blowing that he related the events of that day in two interviews.
Keep scrolling for more details.
How Sandler & Ford Met
Sandler first spoke about Ford's bizarre request in a 2017 Interview with Conan O'Brien when he opened up about his experience working with Carrie Fisher, who wrote the script for his movie, "The Wedding Singer."
"We got close with Carrie and when she was doing the rewrites on our movie, she had this famous party in town where everybody would come, all these giant celebrities, and she invited us," he mentioned.
He went on to say that at the time of the invite, he felt that he was not yet a big enough celebrity to be at such a party but went anyway.
He also discussed the event in another interview with DeGeneres. During the sit-down, the “Saturday Night Live” star mentioned that there were so many big Hollywood stars such as Al Pacino and many other celebrities at the party. Ford, who was also present at the party recognized and invited the young SNL star to his house. He noted how highly he thinks of the actor, saying, "He's a great man."
Ford’s Weird Request To Sandler
Sandler recalled to DeGeneres that the party occurred years ago when he was about 24 years old, and still appearing on "Saturday Night Live," which was early on in his career.
"And Harrison Ford was there and he saw me and he said, 'Oh my God.' and I said, 'Oh my God, Harrison Ford knows me," the actor began.
He also said that Ford went on to tell him that his kids really liked him and then asked if Sandler would ever want to come to his house and wash his car, adding that it would really make his kids laugh.
Sandler recalled that Ford expressly said, “And I would love for you to wash my car. My kids think you're funny and it would just be such a kick for them to see that.”
Sandler & Ford Became Good Friends
Sandler debunked the stories that he did go to Ford's house and wash his car and stated that although he was understandably excited to receive the invitation, he never took Ford up on the offer.
He also added that ever since the party, he and Ford have become friendly over the years. "I know him well now," he said.
The “Grown Ups” actor also added that he and Ford sat and hung out twice at the same hotel when there were fires in their shared neighborhood, and they had to check their families into a hotel.
The actor said they sat, hung out, and talked about when the fire would end and other similar stuff, adding, "I consider myself tight with Harrison now."
More Revelations
Furthermore in the interview, Sandler mentioned other things he has experienced in his life and career. He spoke about his experience as a struggling comedian in New York City and the extra money he made as a street performer to support himself after getting fired from his odd jobs.
He also shared that he would do stand-up comedy at night and during the day, he would take his guitar to play songs at the subway, so that people can give him money to appreciate his performance.
He did the guitar performances after advice from his father, who said; “Hey, you play the guitar, there are people on the streets, so try to do that.”
Unfortunately, his guitar skills were not excellent at all, and he made ‘about 20 bucks or so every few hours.’
