Ronnie Ortiz just scored a huge break in his ongoing domestic violence criminal case, after an L.A. judge decided to not throw the reality star behind bars...for now.

The 'Jersey Shore' star appeared in a Los Angeles County Courtroom today for allegedly violating his probation in another domestic violence case. As you know, Ronnie was still on probation for one case, when he was arrested for a second time for similar allegations.

According to reports, the reality star admitted to his probation violation while inside the courtroom -- and in most cases, this would have meant immediate jail time. But, the court decided it would cut Ronnie a break and allowed him to stay out of custody as long as he stays on the straight and narrow path.

Instead of locking him up, the judge ordered Ortiz to take 26 parenting classes and put a protective order in place so he can't harass or intimidate his ex-girlfriend Saffire Matos. The judge also gave him credit for completing a rehab program in Florida, in lieu of the 30 days in jail.

As you know, the District Attorney's Office originally violated Ronnie for a previous domestic violence case with his ex-girlfriend and baby mama, Jenn Harley. Fast forward...and he is arrested for an incident with his new girlfriend.

According to reports, in April of 2021, Ronnie was arrested for domestic violence after an argument with Matos turned physical. At the time, Oritz was released on $100,000 bail and it's unclear what sparked the incident. Interestingly, Saffire appeared to support Ronnie following the incident, posting on social media, "There is a lot of misleading information floating around out there. With anybody who reached out with concern I appreciate it with all my heart, but everything that’s being portrayed out there are not facts."

Ronnie issued a statement following the arrest, saying, "I take all experiences as lessons.”

He continued, “You learn who really cares about you when your [sic] down and out and than [sic] you see who doesn’t! But I guess they call it the weeding process. Thank you to my real friends who haven’t left my side and haven’t betrayed me.”

Photographers caught up hit the reality star as he exited the L.A. County Courtroom where he was humble and soft-spoken claiming he was happy with the outcome. Reporters questioned the 'Jersey Shore' star about his current relationship with the mother of his daughter, and he would only comment that he does what he can to take care of his family -- and that's all he can worry about at this point.
