Barstool Sports' Dave Portnoy Slams Normani's MTV VMA Performance

Normani gave a jaw-dropping, show-stopping, eye-widening performance at Sunday night’s MTV VMAs.
When we say she brought the sex appeal, we mean she brought the SEX and nothing else.
Taking a page out of Cardi B’s ‘WAP’ book, Normani slayed the VMA stage while performing her new single “Wild Side” for the first time in front of a live studio audience.
The "Motivation" singer always BRINGS IT in live performances, but this one was a step above the rest, especially that Teyana Taylor moment.
Toward the end of her performance, the former Fifth Harmony member had Taylor rolled out on a cross-looking ladder set piece. She was chained to the contraption and Normani gave her a performance of a lifetime.
Let’s just say it was not for the faint of heart.
The highly sexualized interaction included Normani rubbing her way up Taylor’s chest, gracing her breasts, finger biting, heavy petting, a near make out session, twerking, and face humping.
Yes, FACE HUMPING.
It’s a performance that could be rated R and is up there with Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s “WAP” Grammy’s performance.
This is where Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy comes into play.
On Sunday, September 12, Portnoy tweeted a video of his TV with Normani’s performance.
He captioned the tweet, “This is good. Barstool bad.”

Portnoy can be heard saying in the background, “I just want people to know this is on VH1 right now just like cable TV anyone can watch this.”
“People say Barstool is too raunchy. That we are sexist, chauvinists, pigs. Can’t let people see it. Too over the top. Smoke shows,” he continued, “but this girl who’s getting like face f***ed and scissoring right now just on VH1 is cool.”
Barstool Sports has been accused of promoting a culture of misogyny, sexual harassment, and cyberbullying.
His tweet garnered a mixture of responses. Most responses came from his devoted fanbase, others came from horrified parents and some from disparaging women.

Regardless of how Portnoy feels, the performance is said and done, and there will be many more like it to come.
Normani’s performance also made waves but not because of the dancing, twerking and dry humping.
Many fans accused her of lip-syncing or using auto-tune after her whistle notes. People took to Twitter to express their frustration and disapproval.
One person tweeted, “normani and that messy a** lip-syncing and searing autotune and awkward queer bait? you can’t be serious.”
Another wrote, “Normani focused too much on the dancing that it made the lip-syncing too obvious and sloppy.”
So all in all, the “Motivation” singer still has people talking nearly 24-hours after her performance.
Remember, any press is good press.
