Liam Payne Trolls Zayne Malik On TikTok For Leaving One Direction

Fans are still mourning the “indefinite hiatus” that One Direction took back in 2016 but Liam Payne is poking fun at the whole ordeal and he’s starting with trolling Zayn Malik for jumping ship first.

In the hilarious TikTok video, Payne does spot-on lip sync to an audio of a man saying, “Are we absolutely sure what direction we’re going?”. The singer wrote a caption on-screen. “POV the meeting after zayn quit forgot I had this in draft.”.

Before all those heartbroken fans could take his joke out of context he captioned the video, “#sunshine ??? forgot I made this a while ago hope you see the funny side.”

Fans will remember that Malik left the group in 2015 after five years with the boy band who were formed on X Factor UK. Harry, Liam, Niall, and Louis continued on as a foursome and dropped Made In The A.M.

Unfortunately, that was their last album together before announcing that “indefinite hiatus”. They all pursued solo careers, some better than others. Payne released his first solo EP appropriately titled First Time. He followed that up with LP1 and the single “Strip That Down”

Styles has also gone on to have a great solo career. He recently had a song some are calling the song of summer, “Watermelon Sugar High”. Outside of music, he is in a rumored relationship with Olivia Wilde.

Don’t worry this isn’t a new beef spawning between the former band members. In fact, back in June, the singer hopped on IG live to talk with fans. He teased a potential reunion getting fans extremely excited.

“I’d love for us to get in a room at some point, I think it would be the best thing. We’ve all said it outside, we’ve just not said it to each other. There’s a song in there somewhere. Somebody write that down!” he joked.

He also shared that he just got off a phone call with Styles and they have had the same conversation.

While Malik agrees that there are no hard feelings between the guys in the group, the chances of him going backward seem slim. His career is great and his life is different.

The “Pillowtalk” singer recently became a dad to a baby girl, Khai with Gigi Hadid. He has also expressed in the past that he was not always the happiest creatively with the boy band. A solo journey was always in the cards for Malik, he didn’t show up to X Factor UK with a group after all.

While Payne has claimed that he is only poking fun at his former band member, he seems to do it more than what most would seem acceptable along with a few of the other band members.

When Jesy Nelson left Little Mix, Payne referred to her exit as “someone Zayn’d out.” Styles took a similar jab at Malik during his Saturday Night Live monologue. “I love those guys. They’re my brothers. Niall, Liam, Louis ...” He paused, before shading Malik, “... and, uh, Ringo. Yeah, that’s it.”

This must be how former boy band members show their support for one another.
