Kristen Stewart Gets Great Reviews For Performance In 'Spencer' at Venice Film Festival

Kristen Stewart is certainly stealing the show at the Venice Film Festival. The Twilight alum showed up at the festival for the first screening of her new movie "Spencer". Which promises to be a fresh new take on the story of Princess Diana. It's safe to say that Stewart knocked it out of the park. Rocking her reddish-blonde hair look which also turned heads. Meanwhile, her performance in the movie is getting some early Oscar buzz! As Diana, Stewart seems to show all of the emotion that her Bella character in Twilight lacked.
The Reviews Are In
The reviews are in, and as we've mentioned we can't find anything but praises for Stewart's performance. Variety's Owen Gleiberman wrote on her performance,
"Kristen Stewart doesn't just do an impersonation (though on the level of impersonation she's superb). She transforms; she changes her aspect, her rhythm, her karma," He then went on to add, "Mostly, though, what we see in Stewart's Diana is a woman of natural-born elegance, with a luminosity that pours out of her, except that part of her is now driven to crush that radiance because her life has become a wreck."
The Looks
Stewart's performance is potentially over the top. Her looks during the festival were as well. On the red carpet, Stewart took pictures with movie director Pablo LarraĆn who was in a traditional tuxedo. While she was wearing what "fashion experts" are calling a nightgown-inspired outfit. The outfit is pale green with a bow tied around the waist. Maybe not the most formal wear that Stewart has ever sported. However, it really captured her essence. She'd gone a bit more formal earlier in the day with a black Chanel romper. Having her hair pulled back, not as free-flowing as she wore it to the actual premiere.
Making A Major Fashion Statement
The set designers and costume department for this movie certainly had their work cut out for them. Mainly because they most likely had to find a way to create a lot of these sets in a way that they could be different from what we are used to seeing in The Crown. While at the same time making people accept that all of these events are taking place in the same royal palaces.
When it comes to costume design the team really went all out on the Haute Couture dress that Stewart can be seen wearing in a lot of the movie posters. These folks may also be getting an Oscar nod when it's all set and done.

How Stewart Feels About Stepping Into Diana's Shoes
Stewart had her work cut out for her trying to distance her performance from what we saw of Emma Corrin in The Crown, and others who have played the role of Princess Diana in the past. Stewart spoke at a press conference in Venice of how committed she was to the role. While also giving some insight into what it really feels like to step into the shoes of Princess Diana. She mentioned,
"I took more pleasure in my physicality making this movie than I have on anything, I felt more free and alive and able to move, and taller, even."
