Kaley Cuoco Files for Divorce from Karl Cook Hours After Announcing Split

Kaley Cuoco just officially pulled the trigger on divorce and filed documents in L.A. to end her marriage with Karl Cook. According to documents obtained by The Blast, Kaley filed the divorce petition Friday just before Labor Day weekend – a move made by many celebrities who want to keep their breakups under the radar.

The 'Flight Attendant' star announced the split earlier in the day in a joint statement from the now ex-couple. As you know, Cuoco is an avid equestrian and started dating the champion horse rider after bonding over the sport.

"Despite a deep love and respect for one another, we have realized that our current paths have taken us in opposite directions," the statement began. Adding, "We have both shared so much of our journey publicly so while we would prefer to keep this aspect of our personal life private, we wanted to be forthcoming in our truth together. There is no anger or animosity, quite the contrary."

It continued, "We have made this decision together through an immense amount of respect and consideration for one another and request that you do the same in understanding that we will not be sharing any additional details or commenting further."

The former couple shared much of their relationship on social media including their engagement on her birthday in November of 2017, and details of their wedding in June of 2018. The couple tied the knot at a horse stable in San Diego, CA with close friends and family in attendance.

Over the summer, the ex-couple celebrated their three-year wedding anniversary and gave no indication at the time that there might be trouble in paradise. "NY, June 30th, 2016 is the year we met," Kaley captioned an old photo of the couple. She continued, "2 years to the day before we got married and now 3 years married! Why have you stayed married to me for so long?! I'm sincerely impressed (Karl Cook) lol I love you oh so much you have no idea…happy anniversary!!!"

Cook responded to the post, "I agree (Kaley) I am just as amazed it's been three years, feel like just a flash. I love you so much and I can't wait for a million more years!!"

At this point, it is unclear if any outside circumstances lead the couple to consider a split. Plus, it appears the couple has not pulled the trigger and actually filed for divorce. It should be noted, both entered the marriage with a ton of their own money -- Kaley a successful actress, and Cook the son of a tech billionaire. So, most likely they have an iron-clad prenup and the divorce process should be painless.

The only major issue for the former couple will be the new home they bought new Kim Kardashian in Hidden Hills, CA. The duo currently lives in a massive estate, that includes horse stables. It's unclear if either of them will remain at the property.

Kaley Cuoco was previously married to Ryan Sweeting for just 21 months. It was Karl Cook's first marriage.

The 'Big Bang Theory' actress was recently spotted in New York with Pete Davidson, in the streets of Brooklyn, while filming a new film, 'Meet Cute.' It's unclear if she is still on the east coast finishing up the movie.
