Lil Nas X revealed to fans that he is expecting! And, he has a name picked out already, Montero. The rapper’s debut album is finally dropping and of course, he had to troll fans as per usual to announce it.
The 22-year-old shared a TikTok of a “bump check” revealing a fully cooked ready-to-drop album. The text over the photo read, “Baby ‘Montero’ is due September 17, 2021”.
Of course, the bump was prosthetic but so eerily realistic. Fans got a better look at the bump when the rapper revealed a whole pregnancy photoshoot with PEOPLE. Lil Ns X, real name Montero Lamar Hill, wore two outfits that showed off his bundle of joy.
The Good & The Bad
In one photo, the “Industry Baby” rapper wears a white, silk robe with matching silk pants and a crown of beautiful white roses. He holds a bouquet of the same roses adorning his head as he cradles his bump and smiles into the camera.
The second photo featured Hill lounging on a couch wearing a red robe and covered in a fur throw. He gazes over to the window where the sun is trying to peek in. The white and red contrasting photos definitely give off good and evil vibes, which Montero is known for discussing in his music.
Since coming out as gay, he has taken it upon himself to push through some of those stereotypes that have long haunted the stigma behind being gay and a rapper.
Ultimate Troll
The entire photoshoot seems like the ultimate troll from the “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” rapper, who gets pleasure out of doing things that might upset the masses. But also, let’s face it, it’s a great promotion for the album, that seems like it took a while to come out.
Earlier this week, the rapper took a page out of Drake’s marketing book and posted a series of his own pregnant emoji but all men. This should have probably clued fans into what was coming next but, he got them again.

Lil Nas X shared with the publication that in addition to Drake’s pregnant women emojis, his inspiration also came from listening to fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallions verse on his song “Dolla Sign Slime”. Noting that after this realization, it all came together.
'Therapeutic' Album
The rapper shares that because he was able to work on this album while in lockdown, it has become “therapeutic” for him. “I've changed in so many ways,” he shared with PEOPLE.
“I've changed the way that I handle a lot of situations, the way I manage my sadness and anger, and just understanding that I don't have to react to emotions in certain ways.” The rapper initially struggled with bullying when he came out.
'Comments Roll Off My Back'
While he had a lot of support from other fans and family, he admits some of the hurtful comments dug deep. He has taught himself how to bounce back and not be so impacted by the haters.
“I can choose how to react. I've learned to let people's comments roll off my back.”
The rapper shared that he has a lot of hopes and dreams for his “baby” that features collaborations with some of the biggest names in music right now. Doja Cat is featured on a track called “Scoop”, The rapper also collaborated with Miley Cyrus and Elton John!
