Oprah Winfrey Gets Called Out As Fake By Rose McGowan

When you’re in this business for as long as Oprah’s been around, and you create the type of content that has made her famous you’re going to ruffle some feathers here and there. Just ask pretty much half of the UK what they think of Oprah. In fairness to Oprah, the hate that she gets from across the pond isn’t entirely her fault. She just promoted it! Rose McGowan though, is someone who is a little closer to home to Oprah. She is calling out the Queen of daytime TV in a big way! 

It’s one thing to come out and call someone out. In Hollywood though proving that you have or had a connection with convicted sex offender Harvey Weinstein is one of the most serious allegations. McGowan posted a photo of Oprah with Weinstein on Twitter. With a caption that read, 

“I wish she were real, but she isn’t.”

She also added another caption that talked about how she was glad that people were getting a chance to see the truth about Oprah. 

McGowan continued the rant. Her accusations kept getting more and more severe. She finished off a tweet with the #lizard, maybe not to put out there that Oprah is part of those lizard people that conspiracy theorists believe in. Instead to the shame of herself for just being part of the “corrupt power structure” in Hollywood. Something that has been more or less exposed over the last few years. She claimed in the Tweet, 

“From being pals with Weinstein to abandoning & destroying Russell Simmon’s [sic] victims, she is about supporting a sick power structure for personal gain, she is as fake as they come. #lizard.”

One of the reasons why Rose McGowan is potentially coming so hard at Oprah is because McGowan is actually a victim of sexual assault herself. McGowan was literally one of the first women to ultimately accuse Harvey Weinstein of rape. Essentially serving as the Kickstarter for the #metoo movement. Naturally, she’s not a huge fan of anyone who is or was close to Weinstein. Although, whether or not Oprah was “close” to Weinstein is up in the air. It’s one of those things that depends on who you ask. 

Since she kicked off her partnership with Prince Harry with a bang, with that interview of him and Meghan Markle, Oprah has backed Harry in his speaking out about mental health. Their Apple TV series explores multiple stories in depth. Including Oprah’s own story where she talks about also potentially being a victim of sexual violence. The thing is even after all of these years you can’t delete the pictures that you took with folks that have at the very least a shady past. It’s kind of hard to judge who is wrong and who is right here!
