Addison Rae Breaks Silence On MET Gala Attendance

Addison Rae has finally responded to rumors and backlash that she will be attending this year’s MET Gala.
The drama all started last week when rumors started to swirl that a handful of social media influencers would be invited to the biggest fashion ball in all of the world. (Okay, maybe that’s a BIT exaggerated, but it’s a big night nonetheless.)
Among the list of influencers were YouTuber Emma Chamberlain and obviously Addison.
If the rumors are true, this isn’t the first time Anna Wintour will have invited influencers.
Did I or didn't I invite Addison & Emma?!
In 2019 she invited James Charles and Liza Koshy to the event and that caused some major backlash.
Given the grand event was canceled last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, many fans are eager to see their favorite celebrities all decked out in high-end fashion to make their mark on the famous MET Ball red carpet this year.
I got a MET Ball invite? Oh STOOOPPP!
So, when news started swirling that Addison AND Emma would get the chance to walk the carpet all hell broke loose on social media.
One person tweeted the proposed 2021 MET Gala invite list and wrote, “I’m sorry I’m mad THEY CALLED ADDIsoN but not BTS like WTF Also what about doja cat and blackpink I AM MAD.”

Another pointed out that Doja cat, Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo are not on the rumored list of invitees, YET “they” chose Addison out of everyone.
People aren’t happy and Addison has heard their screams, and she responded in the most Gen-Z way possible.
So, last week, reports re-surfaced about Lady Gaga mistaking Ed Sheeran for a waiter at the 2015 Grammys.
He tweeted about the incident writing, “I love @ladygaga. Spoke to her earlier and she mistook me for a waiter. Gotta love the #GRAMMYs. #INeedANewSuit Aha?”

It has since been turned into a meme… and Addison got her own twist put onto it.
One user on Twitter took the meme and replaced the location of story to the MET Gala and Ed’s name with Addison’s.
The meme read: “*Met Gala*
Lady Gaga: ‘Waitress can you get me a champagne’
Addison Rae: ‘I’m Addison Rae’
Lady Gaga: ‘Okay Addison Rae get me some champagne’”
Addison retweeted the meme and wrote, “I would do anything for you Lady Gaga.”
Other rumored influencers invited to the event include Charli & Dixie D’Amelio who also rose to fame on TikTok.
