'Survivor' winner Parvati Shallow has filed for divorce from husband and fellow 'Survivor' alum, John Fincher, after 4 years of marriage.
According to legal documents, obtained by The Blast, Shallow filed for dissolution of marriage on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, in Los Angeles County Court -- citing irreconcilable differences. Parvati was the $1 million winner of the television series 'Survivor: Micronesia -- Fans vs. Favorites. Previously, she had competed on another iteration of the show 'Survivor: Cook Islands, in which she took sixth place.
In 2014, Shallow began dating fellow 'Survivor' alum -- John Fincher -- who competed on the shows Samoa edition. The couple announced their engagement in January of 2017 and were married on July 16, 2017. The couple welcomed a daughter in July of 2018. Up until recently, Shallow's Instagram page featured many photos of Fincher and the couple's young daughter, and it's unclear what caused the couple's split.

Fincher is perhaps most well known for being betrayed by the season's uber-famous contestant, Russell Hantz.
In the filing, it is unclear if Shallow is asking for full custody of her daughter, or will be sharing custody with her now ex-husband. Shallow is currently living in Los Angeles, according to reports, and working as a yoga teacher. Following the big win, Pavarti invested the winning (around $600,000 after taxes) into a wellness center in Santa Monica, California. She partnered with 'Amazing Race' contestant Erika Shay and opened 'ESP Wellness Center' which features things like nutrition counseling, boxing, spa services, and a sauna.
'Survivor' Stars Split After 4 Years Of Marriage
Interestingly, Shallow originally auditioned for a spot of 'The Amazing Race' with a friend but was never called back to the show. Fortunately, CBS executives loved her personality and decided to offer her a place on their other television show instead. The rest is history after she was cast for the show's thirteenth season.
Parvati is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of Survivor of all time. She was one of the first five inductees into the 'Survivor Hall of Fame' in 2010, alongside Hantz, Mariano, Diaz-Twine, and Richard Hatch. In 2015, host Jeff Probst named Shallow as one of his top ten favorite contestants.
'Survivor' Star John Fincher Has Yet To Respond To The Divorce
The stunning contestant also found time to star in the 2009 movie, 'Into The Blue 2: The Reef' starring as herself alongside Amanda Kimmel.
In the end, Pavarti competed on four different show versions of 'Survivor' and hosted an aftershow for several years.
The divorce case is ongoing, and Fincher has yet to respond to the filing.
