Hilary Erhard Duff, the popular American actress is battling with coronavirus, and this time around it’s the delta variant. (Yes, that strain they said is super infectious.)
She announced this news via her Instagram story on Friday, showing so much distress at getting the virus even though she has taken the full dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
“That delta … She’s a little b**ch,” Duff said in a caption of a photo showing her laid down in bed. “Symptoms: bad headache. No taste or smell. Sinus pressure. Brain fog. Happy to be vaxxed,” she continued then added a peace sign emoji.
The superstar got vaccinated just weeks after giving birth to her third child. She posted a selfie of herself leaving the vaccination centre after getting the jab. A second post that same day showed her driving home, with a plaster on her arm. “Other people raging, other things today… I got that from Pfizer.” Duff said.
Is Hilary Duff In Danger?
For now, the actress has quarantined herself in her house in Los Angeles, California.
Duff has also not revealed if her husband Matthew Koma, 33, their daughter Banks Violet Bair, 2, or the actress’ son Luca Cruz Comrie, 8, have shown any symptoms of the virus, or even tested positive.

More importantly, ‘even if you do get infected after your vaccination, your case is likely to be asymptomatic or mild, like a common cold,’ said Gregory Poland, an infectious disease physician at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and director of Mayo’s Vaccine Research Group.
Barring any unforeseen circumstances, we can expect to see the superstar fully recovered in a few weeks. We wish the “According To Greta” star and her family all the best as they go through this difficult time.
Is The Virus Contractible After Vaccination?
The COVID-19 virus has infected over 74 million people worldwide. Among those who caught the disease are musicians (Bad Bunny, Kanye West), sports stars (Cristiano Ronaldo, Lewis Hamilton), actors (Kristen Stewart, Tom Hanks), politicians (Donald Trump, Rudy Giuliani), and reality TV stars (Larsa Pippen, Khloe Kardashian).
The virus then mutated into the delta variant, which is seemingly more deadly than the previous variant. Odds are quite low, but even vaccinated people can be infected with the virus. A small number of American citizens have contracted the virus even after getting the COVID-19 vaccine. Tagged as “breakthrough cases,” they have been making headlines in recent news.
Duff’s case is also a breakthrough case since she has received vaccination against the virus. She is however not the only celebrity to catch a breakthrough case of COVID as Melissa Joan Hart also got the virus despite being vaccinated.
Therefore, it’s quite surprising that you can still get the virus even when vaccinated. This tells everyone not to let their guards down and keep using facemasks while keeping social distances.
More Celebrities Who Took The Vaccine
The list keeps growing and includes singer and actress Miley Cyrus, model Christie Brinkley and actress Amanda Seyfried. The U.S. first administration of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine began on Monday (Dec. 14 2020), according to Buzzfeed.
In America, the first person to take the jab was Sandra Lindsay, an emergency care nurse at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in Queens, New York. She was vaccinated alongside New York Governor Andrew Cuomo during a live press conference.

“I hope this marks the beginning of the end of a very painful time in our history,” said Lindsay, per Buzzfeed. “I feel hopeful today. I want to instil public confidence that the vaccine is safe, we’re in a pandemic, and so we all need to do our part to put an end to the pandemic and not give up so soon.”
‘How I Met Your Father’
Three days prior to this update, Duff posted a selfie of herself, surrounded by her co-stars at 20th Century Studios in Los Angeles, California. She was on the set of Hulu’s proposed new show, “How I Met Your Father,” a spinoff of the hit sitcom “How I Met Your Mother,” which has been speculated for release later this year.
In an Instagram post, the actress was grinning while she sat in a director’s chair in the center of the photo. She was surrounded by six of her cast members all grinning along with her.
“Who’s ready for us??? We may or may not have been sitting in front of a certain someone’s apartment…. #himyf,” Hilary captioned the photo.
The short comedy series has HIMYM creators Craig Thomas and Carter Bays among its executive producers, and shows Duff starring as Sophie, who told her son the story of how she met his father. The series revolves around Sophie and her buddies who were trying to find their purpose in life.
News on whether the spinoff would be postponed is yet to be disclosed as Duff’s absence may or may not affect the release date. The actress is set to appear in every episode of the new series.
