Britney Spears' Housekeeper Claims Dog Was 'Near Death' From Dehydration

Britney Spears' housekeeper is saying there was a good reason she took the pop star's animal to the vet, which caused the massive blow up, claiming there were "near-death" from dehydration and poor diet.

According to multiple reports, Britney's dogs were seriously ill with one of them close to death and her housekeeper believed she needed to make an emergency trip to the veterinary clinic. As you know, the trip turned into keeping the dogs away from the pop star entirely and sparked the incident which put Spears under criminal investigation for a battery.

Earlier this week, an employee for the 'Toxic' singer became alarmed after one of Britney's two dogs (who has serious digestive issues) became "very sick." Apparently, the dogs require a special type of food but were regularly being fed table scraps. Obviously, the digestive issue led one of them to become very ill.

The housekeeper claims both dogs ended up with serious dehydration due to lack of water, and that was enough for the staff member to decide to take them to the vet.

As we reported, after examining the dogs -- the vet was also alarmed with their condition and the housekeeper decided it would be best if she kept the dogs in her care -- away from Britney. Of course, after her pets never returned home, Britney suspected her father -- Jamie Spears -- might be behind the kidnapping of the animals and had something to do with the situation. At the time, Britney called the cops herself and was preparing to file a theft report over the dogs.

The situation led to an argument between Britney and her employee after she confronted her for taking the animals away. Britney became enraged over the decision to take the dogs without her knowledge. But, the housekeeper showed the pop star pictures of how sick the animals look. At that moment, the employee claims Britney "slapped" the phone right out of her hand.

That's when the housekeeper decided to file a police report of her own, and the Ventura County Sheriff's Department launched an investigation for battery against Spears. According to one report, Britney believed the staff member was sending the pictures to her father, who has nothing to do with her conservatorship now. His only role is working with Britney's estate with her finances. The dog's activities don't fall in that category. We should note, there is no proof at this point that Jamie is involved in any way.

As of Friday, the dogs are still not in Britney's custody and the Sheriff is continuing their investigation. Unfortunately, the pop star could be facing battery charges, after the cops told us they would be forwarding the case to the District Attorney's office.

As we reported, this is terrible timing for the pop star, who appears to be leaning towards asking a judge to remove her longstanding conservatorship. If she makes the formal request, it is possible a few of Britney's team members might question her ability to care for herself, or animals.
