Kate Middleton is putting her soft power to good use ahead of Prince Harry‘s visit to the United Kingdom.
The Princess of Wales has reportedly gotten busy trying to give the Duke of Sussex an easy landing with his big brother, Prince William, as he prepares to land in England later this month with his family.
Kate Middleton previously promised King Charles to do everything within her capacity to mend the broken bond between the Royal Family and Prince Harry.
Kate Middleton Could Change Prince William’s Mind About Missing Out On Prince Harry’s Visit
As far as sources within the palace are concerned, there is “no expectation” that William would be interested in making an appearance at Harry’s highly anticipated visit later this month.
However, the mother-of-three has increased the tempo of trying to convince her husband to see a reason why absence may not be the best strategy.
Kate especially has an interest in seeing Archie and Lilibet as it is a once in a blue moon opportunity because that has not happened since their exodus from England in 2020.
As noted by US Weekly, the Princess of Wales is hoping that William will show up at the meeting, but if he decides otherwise, she will respect his decision.
Harry and Meghan Markle will fly into England in July for the one-year countdown to the Invictus Games in 2027. It will mark the first time the couple will show up with their kids since their last appearance during Queen Elizabeth’s funeral.
The Future King Will Only Meet With His Brother When He Is Ready
While Kate’s efforts are commendable, an insider revealed that William will only give Harry an audience when he is ready because it suddenly appeared on his calendar. In the insider’s words: “They also weren’t expecting Harry to come to the U.K. with Meghan and the kids, so he’s been hesitant. If he is not ready yet, a reunion won’t happen.”
Charles has been hopeful to finally schedule a meeting with Harry and Meghan on the trip with hopes to rebuild their relationship gradually. Queen Camilla has also been very supportive of the efforts from within to repair the broken bond, and lots of excitement is in the air.
Harry briefly spoke about the bond between him and William in 2023 during an interview about Queen Elizabeth’s funeral. He joked that they had walked the same path they had towed during Princess Diana’s funeral in 1997, although with a clear knowledge of the road.

As for the Princess of Wales, The Blast shared that last year, she felt the opportunity to heal the family was slipping away and was pushing to act on it before it was too late. Kate also engaged in a private conversation with King Charles, reiterating her commitment to exert her energy in making sure things return to normal between the feuding brothers.
The princess, who has had her episode of conflicts with Meghan and Harry, especially in the process leading up to their wedding, knows that the elephant in the room is too significant to ignore. However, her noble efforts may not be music to Prince William’s ears, who continues to feel the hurt of Meghan and Harry’s previous actions, like the Oprah interview, his book, and other statements.
The insider added that while Charles is eager to end the years-long feud and welcome Harry back into the family, William remains unconvinced. Even so, the King reportedly believes his daughter-in-law is the one person who could eventually persuade the future King to reconsider.
Prince William’s Journey Towards The Throne May Have Influenced His Stance On His Brother
As shared by The Blast, Royal commentator Amanda Matta noted that the brothers have one of the deepest rifts within the monarchy, with a few signs pointing towards a rift between them. Matta suggested that beyond the consequences of Harry’s actions, William’s position as the future King has shaped his response to their drama.
Matta stated that William has become increasingly focused on projecting authority and stability, which she believes explains reports that he has disagreed with Charles’ handling of sensitive family matters. William has reportedly expressed his dissatisfaction towards Charles’ interaction with Prince Andrew’s drama.
Royal correspondent Emily Nash also repeated a similar point, stating that she would be surprised if Harry and William shared any meaningful private time during the visit. While she acknowledged they could cross paths at a family event, she does not expect that to lead to a heartfelt reconciliation.
Instead, Nash believes King Charles is more likely to focus on rebuilding his own relationship with Harry and spending time with his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, rather than trying to broker peace between his sons. If there is to be any meaningful progress, William must put his emotions aside and take a more pragmatic view.
Matta also suggested his lingering frustration over Harry’s public criticism of the monarchy continues to stand in the way of reconciliation. To her, a private conversation between the brothers would be a huge sign of communication improving.
