Harvey Weinstein is being haunted by another health issue.
The filmmaker reportedly suffered another major health scare related to his heart while he is currently awaiting sentencing in September.
Harvey Weinstein was convicted in Los Angeles for rape and sexual assault, leading to a 16-year sentence in 2022. Although his New York conviction was overturned in 2024, he was convicted again during a retrial in 2025.
Harvey Weinstein Has Reportedly Been Receiving Treatment At Bellevue

The disgraced Hollywood film producer, who is currently incarcerated on Rikers Island in New York City, reportedly experienced heart failure about a fortnight ago, caused by pneumonia.
Weinstein reportedly experienced a hard time breathing when the prison authorities rushed him to Bellevue Hospital Prison Ward in Manhattan. Sources close to the producer told TMZ that he has been receiving treatment at Bellevue ever since.
Medical practitioners have placed Weinstein on an IV, hooked him up to a heart monitor, and prescribed him antibiotics to address his pneumonia, which has helped him feel better.
The Filmmaker’s Fate For A Fourth Trial Gets Overturned

On June 25, The Blast shared that the actor will not appear in court for a fourth time in New York after Manhattan prosecutors revealed that they have decided to drop the final unresolved rape charge against him.
The decision was made after Jessica Mann, the main witness, informed the court that she would not be proceeding with her testimony. In the statement announced by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, he clarified that the prosecutor will not pursue a retrial on the remaining third-degree rape charge.
“In consideration of Ms. Mann’s stance, and in recognition of Mr. Weinstein’s class B felony conviction for violently sexually assaulting Miriam Haley, we will not pursue a fourth trial and therefore moved to dismiss the remaining count,” Bragg announced.
He continued that despite Mann’s decision, his office is not doubtful of her credibility and account as a witness who has displayed honesty and bravery.
Harvey Weinstein’s Attorney Admitted Relief At The Development

While the case has been placed on the back shelf, prosecutors still moved forward with their campaign to secure a lengthy prison sentence connected to Weinstein’s conviction for sexually assaulting his former assistant, Miriam Haley.
The prosecutors recommended that the disgraced filmmaker be slammed with 20 years in prison as the appropriate punishment for the assault on Haley. As for the disgraced producer’s legal team, the prosecutors’ decision was long overdue.
The team noted that the conclusion should have been reached from the start if the grand jury had been presented with the full scope of the emails, text messages, and other private exchanges.
The defense team continued by stating that they would challenge the sentencing materials, as they believe the judge imposed the prior sentence. Weinstein has reportedly been a model inmate for nearly seven years, and that should be reflected in the weight of his sentence.
Inside The Disgraced Film Producer’s Alleged Cancer Report

In 2024, Weinstein was reportedly diagnosed with cancer, although the prognosis remained unclear, as some other informant claimed his type of cancer was chronic myeloid leukemia.
As reported by The Blast, at the time of the report, insiders claimed he was receiving treatment behind bars, although his rep tagged the news as untrue and a breach of medical privacy, whether confirmed or not.
One month before news of his alleged cancer diagnosis filtered out, Weinstein had undergone a successful heart surgery at Bellevue Hospital. Weinstein’s reps revealed that the effect of the surgery left him weak and needing rest but did not provide information on what could have caused the medical emergency.
Weinstein’s camp emphasized the need for privacy regarding Weinstein’s health matters and stated that no further comments would be made out of respect for his confidentiality.
Harvey Weinstein’s Team Blamed Prison Condition For His Health Woes

Last year, Weinstein’s rep Juda Engelmayer expressed his concerns over his declining health and incessant sickness since getting incarcerated at Rikers Island. According to Engelmayer, his client gained over 25 pounds in prison since his transfer from Bellevue Hospital.
The rep noted that such a level of weight gain was detrimental to preexisting conditions in his system, like diabetes and heart issues. The filmmaker also battled with a severely inflamed tongue, which restricted his ability to swallow comfortably.
On top of that, Engelmayer added that there are also cases of missed and delayed medications alongside constant heart palpitations that have been left unaddressed.
Weinstein reportedly endured freezing conditions, with a lack of clothing and poor feeding frequency in Rikers, all of which advanced his declining health.
