Sharon Stone finds big words to qualify her very big feelings after her maternal grandfather passed on!
The actress got candid about feeling a significant degree of relief at the sight of Clarence Lawson’s lifeless body years after she experienced abuse at his hands in her childhood.
Sharon Stone has often described her maternal grandfather as an abuser who made her and her sister, Kelly’s, life a living hell when they were younger.
Inside Sharon Stone’s Feeling Of Glee Towards Her Grandfather’s Death

The media personality broke the stories in her “The Beauty of Living Twice” memoir down with Anderson Cooper on his podcast. She revealed that Lawson also abused their mother and did everything humanly possible to unleash that side of him towards her and Kelly.
Stone insisted that he was far from what she would call a grandfather, as he represented a creature she and Kelly do everything to get away from. She added that her grandmother, who also suffered abuse at the hands of Lawson, was in on the plan to abuse them by trapping them in a room with him whenever they visited.
At Lawson’s funeral, Stone recalled poking his body and getting satisfaction that there was no breath in his body, and her sister felt the same way; that it was over for good. She described her first experience of death as a kid as weird because all she felt was glee, relief, and great indifference.
“It will be a picture in my mind forever of that weird sense of emptiness, good emptiness,” Stone emphasized, as she noted that the gentility and thoughtfulness that often accompanied a funeral were very amiss.
The Actress Reflected On The Abuse Her Mother Experienced With Her Grandfather

As shared by The Blast, the media personality last August revealed in an interview that nearly all the women in her grandfather’s life went through a painful ordeal with him. She recalled her mother experiencing severe abuse from Lawson right from her childhood till she was old enough to work.
She added that there was no day Lawson did not beat her mother, a cycle that also continued with her and her sister whenever they came around for visits. However, Stone’s relationship with her father, Joseph, was positive when it came to her family dynamics.
Stone revealed that her bond with Joseph was that of guidance to help her find her way around a male-dominated world. The actress became an instant household name when she played the icy, captivating novelist Catherine Tramell in the 1992 box office smash hit “Basic Instinct.”
Sharon Stone Revealed The Extent Of Clarence Lawson’s Depravity

The TV personality revealed in 2024 that her grandfather was a pedophile who was out of control and would resort to having sex with a chair leg. As shared by Yahoo News, the actress stressed that Lawson was trying to get in bed with everybody, including her sister, when she was just five years old.
In her memoir, Stone detailed how she had to go for years of therapy to get over the years of trauma, and that was when she understood that the abuse had nothing to do with her, as it could have happened even if she were an inanimate object.
“Frankly, it has zero meaning to me anymore. I feel bad that this person lived with that illness. He had a terrible illness, and his illness really affected other people; he should have been in quarantine his whole life,” she stated.
Due to her experience, the actress also finds herself unable to forgive men who are intentionally mean because being in a relationship with them is just hurtful.
The Movie Star Channeled Her Grief Into Creating Meaningful Art

Earlier in the year, the television personality revealed that losing so many members of her family rapidly over the past three years unlocked something in her. As noted by The Blast, she noted that her artistic side sought inspiration from conversations with spirits and embracing universal consciousness.
Stone explained further that her artistic journey came as a phase between movie roles, and as soon as she gets to work creating these pieces, she hears clear words from a higher body.
In one of her art creation processes, Stone detailed having an encounter with a complicated character who took a while to get vulnerable with her while she created a piece about him. The piece was one of the artworks assembled for her Rogue Gallery Series, where the project statement described the collection as never-before-seen pieces she created.
She explained that the spirit shared his traumatic story of drowning in a ship where he was chained in the hull of the vessel. Basically, his story was about being enslaved, and that explained his difficulty in freely expressing himself with her.
Sharon Stone Opened Up About Grueling Stroke Recovery and Painful Divorce

Last year, Stone shared her story of living through a devastating stroke in 2001 at the American Heart Association’s Red Dress Collection Concert, presented by the screen icon. She recalled leaving the hospital unable to remember her own name, having lost much of her body weight, and struggling to use her right foot.
Stone shared that she suffered from bleeding in the brain for nine days before she was diagnosed with a stroke after a ruptured vertebral artery. She also criticized the lack of rehabilitation and insurance support available after her illness, sharing that there was no aftercare to help survivors recover.
During her recovery, her then-husband Phil Bronstein filed for divorce, making her situation even more distressing. However, the setbacks did not stop Stone from rebuilding her life and becoming a stroke awareness advocate, explaining that the experience changed her perspective and made her prioritize family over fame.
She revealed it took seven years to regain her confidence and career, adding that she had to remortgage her home after losing the momentum she had built in Hollywood.
