Prince William is officially richer than his father, King Charles III!
The Prince of Wales was revealed to be a billionaire on Friday, June 26, following a statement from the Duchy of Cornwall. He became the 25th Duke of Cornwall after his father ascended the throne in 2022.
News of Prince William’s billionaire status follows speculations about his estranged brother, Prince Harry’s return to the UK amid financial issues.
Prince William Has A Net Worth Of £1.2 Billion

The Duchy of Cornwall confirmed Prince William has a net worth of £1.2 billion, a massive sum he amassed through investment property and a private income of £21.6 million in 2025-2026. His status makes him richer than the King, whose net worth is reportedly £640 million.
The Prince’s billionaire status became public after he released his tax bill for the first time since becoming the Duke of Cornwall. William, as heir to the throne, is entitled to the annual profits from the Duchy’s landed estate, which covers 51,800 hectares across 19 counties, per The Daily Mail.
The Prince reportedly uses the income obtained from the Duchy to fund charities alongside the private and official lives of his wife, Kate Middleton, and their three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
The Future King’s Estranged Brother Is Allegedly Facing Financial Crisis

While William has become richer than the current King, his estranged brother is a different story. The Blast reported that royal commentator Tom Sykes slammed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s return to the UK as a desperate move to alleviate their financial crisis.
Sykes claimed the couple had “run out of ideas, and their finances are basically in jeopardy.” He ripped the Duchess of Sussex apart, describing her as someone “desperate” for fame, recognition, money, and status. The royal commentator believed she was returning to the UK to restore her credibility.
On the other hand, royal biographer Tom Bower argued that Harry was returning to the UK to reconcile with his family. He believed the Duke of Sussex missed “his roots” and probably hoped “to worm his way back into the affections not only of his own family, but of the British people.”
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Accused Of Trying To Boost Their Brand

More royal commentators questioned the Sussexes’ return to the UK, with Mark Dolan suggesting their comeback was tied to their failed commercial and media ventures in the United States. The Blast shared that he claimed their visit reeked of “desperation,” noting the duo’s “money is drying up.”
According to Dolan, Harry’s speaking engagements were no longer successful, as he now earned $50K per speech when he initially pulled in $1 million. He added that Meghan’s As Ever brand wasn’t faring any better, as it was allegedly struggling.
Given these alleged problems, Dolan theorized that the Sussexes were returning to the UK in hopes of boosting their failed brand. He added that Meghan, in particular, needed the spotlight their visit would bring because she “sees herself as the breadwinner.”
King Charles Allegedly Clashes With His Oldest Son Over The Sussexes

While the official reason for the Sussexes’ return to the UK is to attend the events linked to the 2027 Invictus Games, it hasn’t stopped many from wondering if a reconciliation will happen behind the scenes. The Blast reported that one royal, in particular, wasn’t open to the idea.
According to a source, William clashed with Charles over Harry and Meghan’s visit. The future King reportedly learned of their comeback just hours before the Trooping the Color event, leaving him shocked and unhappy.
“The King’s relationship with William is not in a good place,” the source revealed, noting the Prince of Wales believed his father was making a mistake trying to reconcile with Harry. Similarly, his wife, Kate, was allegedly displeased by the Sussexes’ upcoming visit.
Prince Harry’s School Claims About Prince William Resurface

The drama between Harry and William appears to have been brewing long before the Sussexes’ relocation to the US. The Blast shared that the duke’s claims about his older brother’s behavior in Eton College recently resurfaced.
Harry revealed in his 2023 memoir, “Spare,” that he had enrolled at the prestigious boarding school a year after his mother, Princess Diana’s, passing. William was already a student at the institution, and his sibling had hoped to count on him while settling in.
However, William allegedly shut down Harry’s request and asked him to “pretend” they were strangers. The latter confessed that he was deeply hurt by his brother’s words and had to rely on sports to survive his time at school.
