Meghan Markle continues to spark conversations over her return to the UK.
The Duchess of Sussex, who became a part of the British Royal Family when she tied the knot to Prince Harry, has been estranged from her in-laws for years.
Now, Prince Harry reportedly has a shot at reconciliation. However, Meghan Markle’s presence could change the narrative.
The Possible Impacts Of Meghan Markle’s Involvement In The Royal Family’s Reconciliation

Royal commentator Amanda Matta recently weighed in on the possible impacts of Meghan’s involvement in reconciliation talks. She believed the Duchess’s presence “would certainly add symbolic weight to any reunion.”
Matta argued that Meghan accompanying Harry to the UK or to any meetings with his family, “would signal to the public that any effort at rebuilding relationships extends to the Sussex family as a whole.”
Matta told Page Six that she did not believe Meghan’s presence at Prince Harry and King Charles’ meeting would make their reconciliation “easier or more difficult.” Nonetheless, her involvement should not be overlooked, with the royal commentator saying:
“It just changes the stakes. The challenge in reconciling has never really been about any one person; it has been rebuilding trust across the board.”
The Duchess’s Presence At Reconciliation Meetings Hasn’t Been Confirmed

Matta noted that Meghan’s presence at any meetings between Harry and his family hasn’t been confirmed. But she claimed the Duchess’s relationship with King Charles “has always been somewhat distinct from Harry’s,” with records showing a past amicable bond.
According to the royal commentator, there were indications that Charles made efforts to welcome Meghan into the Royal Family before she stepped back in recent years. Matta saw the indications as an acknowledgment that Harry’s issues with his family were responsible for “the Sussexes’ ongoing tensions with the royals.”
Matta backed her claims with the Duke’s past statements, pointing out that the issues he has raised about the press’ invasion of his privacy and the “emotionally stifling palace environment, existed and were eating away at Harry before he even met Meghan.”
The Royal Commentator Believes Further Backlash Will Be The Palace’s Fault

The “Off With Their Headlines” podcast co-host believed the “frenzy” over the Sussexes’ tense relationship with the Royal Family has significantly reduced since their last appearance in the UK. Matta noted the public was well aware of their complicated relationship, making it paramount for better management.
Matta explained that the Palace needed to manage the media coverage of Harry and Meghan’s return, so the public wouldn’t receive mixed signals. She claimed suggestions of a reconciliation alongside reports of ongoing or renewed bad blood wouldn’t look good for the monarchy, saying:
“It would reinforce the impression that the royal family is still navigating unresolved issues behind the scenes, that they can’t get their act together.”
Experts Say The Former Actress May Not Receive A Warm Welcome

While Matta speculated that the public’s interest in the Sussexes’ estranged relationship with the royals has died down, other experts beg to differ. The Blast covered the story, reporting that royal commentator Phil Dampier believed Harry and Meghan may not be warmly welcomed.
Dampier claimed some people in the UK still blamed the “Suits” alum for her husband’s estrangement from his family. These critics, per the royal commentator’s belief, could cause unpredictable scenarios if they encountered the couple in public.
On the other hand, Dampier noted the Sussexes were “on safe ground at the Invictus Games event as the servicemen and their families” were less hostile. He claimed this group had favorable opinions of Harry and Meghan due to their longstanding involvement with the organization.
Meghan Markle Reportedly Has A Shot At Reuniting With King Charles

The conversation surrounding Meghan’s return to the UK continued, with royal biographer Hugo Vickers dropping more claims about a possible reconciliation. The Blast reported that Vickers claimed the King wouldn’t be opposed to meeting his estranged daughter-in-law.
Vickers noted Charles never closed the door ok reconciling with Meghan, but other sources shared that any meeting would be held away from the public’s eye. Another reason the monarch was allegedly interested in a reunion was for his grandkids.
The King reportedly prioritized meeting Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, as he has only met his grandson a handful of times and his granddaughter just once. The royal biographer added that Charles was similarly eager to mend his ties to Harry.
Will Meghan Markle be involved in any reconciliation meetings?
