DUI Arrest In California, Then Rehab
In March, Britney Spears was pulled over in Ventura County, CA, and arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. Per police reports, the blonde was “driving erratically” and at “high speed.” Spears was out of jail by the next morning and went on to plead guilty to reckless driving in May. She received a sentence of informal probation, plus a requirement to undergo a DUI class and pay state-mandated fines. Britney then checked herself into rehab on a voluntary basis for substance abuse issues.
Rep Says Incident ‘Inexcusable’
“This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable,” Britney’s rep stated shortly after the star’s arrest.
“Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law, and hopefully this can be the first step in the long-overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life,” the rep added. Britney deleted her Instagram in the wake of her arrest, but has since reinstated her feed.
