Teddi Mellencamp Declared Her Melanoma Remission Earlier In The Month

The actress on June 2 posted on Instagram that she has turned the final corner in recovery from her stage 4 melanoma after successful immunotherapy. As shared by USA TODAY, she continued that she still has a year of treatment ahead, although her latest scans show no evidence of tumors in her brain and lungs.
Mellencamp has been receiving immunotherapy and undergoing monthly CAT scans and MRIs, but despite reporting no detectable cancer last October, she was still not considered to be in remission.
The reality star’s doctor, Omid Hamid, raved about her positive outcome, while explaining that some of the side effects of her therapy still exist, but they will all lead to an encouraging end.

According to the reality star, she found herself on the surgery table, getting rid of tumors the size of a plum in her brain. A year after that experience, the actress admitted she was still battling with anxiety, but was immensely grateful toward everyone who cared for her.
She highlighted the impressive efforts of her friends towards nursing her back to life, while admonishing her fans to trust their guts and get checked at the first signs of any discomfort.
Mellencamp’s pals all rushed to the comments to gush about her bravery to survive such a painful experience and stay resilient even as she battled cancer.
Teddi Mellencamp’s Regret

The media personality disclosed one of the biggest regrets she carried with her throughout her battle with cancer, especially early into her treatment.
While she remained consistent with the doctor’s visits throughout treatment, she did fail to ask necessary follow-up questions about her scans and monitor her progress.
She revealed that she placed all her trust in her medical team, while failing to conduct her own research on her stage 2 diagnosis because she was overwhelmed by fear and anxiety.
As noted by The Blast, Mellencamp explained that she once believed doctors would automatically catch anything concerning if her condition changed.
However, she was surprised to discover later that the melanoma on her shoulder, initially classified as stage 1, had progressed beyond what earlier evaluations suggested.
The reality star noted that previous consultations had assured her that the cancer had not advanced, and she even got advised at one point to reduce the frequency of scans.
