New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith is facing allegations of assault after a woman accused him of attacking her during a heated dispute over the weekend. According to several reports, law enforcement officials confirmed that the matter is currently under review following claims made on social media by a woman identified as Kristen. The allegations quickly gained online attention after Kristen shared a series of posts and videos detailing the incident.

Woman Accuses Geno Smith Of Physical Assault

In one social media post, Kristen made a number of accusations against the NFL quarterback, writing, “Today is the DAY! GENO SMITH beat my ass cause he HATES taking care of his special needs kid and can’t be left alone with him because he’d rather watch s-x online and play ‘Call of Duty.'”

The post was accompanied by video footage appearing to show an argument between the pair. In one clip, Smith can be heard speaking on the phone with an unidentified individual, saying, “She just called the police.”

“Geno just beat my a-s, that’s why,” Kristen responded. “You ran outside and attacked me, b-tch.” The argument continued as the woman later ran down a driveway yelling for help.

During the confrontation, she also accused Smith of damaging her belongings and taking money from her vehicle.

Additional Video Appears To Show Physical Altercation

Another video shared online appeared to show Smith seated inside a vehicle while what looked to be a physical struggle unfolded nearby.

At this time, no criminal charges have been announced, and authorities have not publicly commented on the details of the investigation, other than confirming that the allegations are under review.

Smith has not publicly addressed the accusations.

Child’s Mother Pushes Back On Parenting Claims

One aspect of Kristen’s allegations centered on claims involving Smith’s role as a father. However, Smith’s son’s mother publicly rejected suggestions that the quarterback was incapable of caring for their child. Smith welcomed his son, Seven, in 2019.

Responding to the online controversy, the child’s mother wrote, “Geno is and always has been more than capable of taking care of his son. Let’s kill that narrative. Don’t get on the internet, bringing my son into your web of dysfunction.”

Smith’s NFL Journey Has Not Been Easy

Smith is no stranger to adversity on and off the football field. The quarterback was originally selected by the New York Jets in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft after a standout collegiate career at West Virginia Mountaineers. After four seasons with the Jets, he spent time with the New York Giants and Los Angeles Chargers before revitalizing his career with the Seattle Seahawks.

Smith enjoyed a career renaissance in Seattle, earning NFL Comeback Player of the Year honors in 2022 after throwing for 4,282 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions while leading the Seahawks to the playoffs. He followed that up with another Pro Bowl season and eventually set franchise records for passing yards, completions, and completion percentage.

Over the course of his NFL career, Smith has appeared in more than 100 games and accumulated more than 22,000 passing yards and 120 touchdown passes. He was named to the Pro Bowl twice and has become one of the league’s most notable comeback stories after spending years as a backup before re-establishing himself as a starting quarterback.

Geno Smith Recently Returned To The New York Jets

The latest allegations come during a busy offseason for Smith. The veteran quarterback was traded to the New York Jets earlier this year after spending the previous season with the Las Vegas Raiders. Despite the move, reports indicate the Raiders remain responsible for paying a significant portion of Smith’s 2026 salary.

“I don’t think anyone could have imagined that, honestly,” Smith shared with reporters after the news was announced. “But that’s the beauty of life itself is that I make plans all the time, and rarely do they go exactly as I planned them.”

The veteran signal-caller is expected to enter the 2026 season as New York’s starting quarterback under new head coach Aaron Glenn.

As the investigation remains under review, neither the Jets nor Smith has publicly commented on the situation.
