Brooklyn Beckham‘s decision to team up with DoorDash to mock his family continues to garner interesting reactions.

The media personality, who has since adopted his wife Nicola Peltz’s last name, has been butting heads with his family for years over his spouse’s happiness.

Brooklyn Beckham recently shocked fans with an ad focused on his estrangement from the Beckhams, sparking backlash online. However, not everyone is a critic.

Sources recently weighed in on Brooklyn’s now-viral DoorDash ad, where he poked fun at his estrangement from his famous parents, David and Victoria Beckham. An insider close to the media personality shed light on the benefits of the mocking ad, saying:

“It’s a little cheesy. Anything that makes him money is good — it shows that his brand is there and flourishing.”

They claimed he likely got paid around $1 million for the ad. Ana Andjelic, a brand expert who writes “The Sociology of Business” Substack, told Page Six that DoorDash made the right decision teaming up with Brooklyn, dubbing the collaboration a “smart move.”

Andjelic applauded the delivery company for striking while the iron was hot, believing they wanted to be in the news and used the controversial entertainer to achieve their plans. “It’s a good ad. It taps into some human truths: all families have their own feuds,” the brand expert explained.

Andjelic added that DoorDash chose the perfect time for the, noting it was World Cup season and they used the son of a soccer legend. “It’s funny,” the brand expert mused. On the other hand, the Beckhams were not amused by their estranged son’s antics for money.

One source slammed the media personality for monetizing the family feud, saying, “Brooklyn claims he wants peace and privacy and nothing to do with his family — now he’s trying to cash in on it all.” Another source claimed the Beckhams were “devastated.”

Fans Slammed The Ad As Hypocritical

When the first half of the ad dropped on Instagram, The Blast reported that it sparked waves of criticism from fans who saw Brooklyn’s actions as hypocritical. Many called him out on his past statements, in which he announced his separation from his family.

These critics slammed him for being two-faced, arguing that he had no problem trashing his family online, then doing a 180 to make a profit from the situation. Others labeled the social media personality “desperate” and bashed the ad as “disturbing.”

In the video, Brooklyn wore a sly smirk as he told viewers he was watching the 2026 FIFA World Cup at home. As for the reason, he gave a suggestive shrug, saying, “It’s a long story.” The words “It’s complicated. More soon,” also flashed across the screen.

PR Experts Slammed The Media Personality As ‘Cheap’

The first wave of criticism did not stop the second half of the ad from dropping on Instagram, in another joint post between DoorDash and Brooklyn. The Blast covered the story, reporting that the video concluded with the oldest of the Beckham children giving out his World Cup tickets.

A DoorDash employee picked up the tickets, and Brooklyn asked him to put them somewhere fun, with the post’s caption encouraging fans to follow clues to find them. However, the post sparked more backlash from disappointed fans.

PR experts also weighed in on the ad, with Sean O’Meara, managing director of Essential Content, dubbing the campaign “cheap.” He argued that the ad didn’t look good for already-controversial Brooklyn, wondering whether his desperation for money had pushed him to air his family’s dirty laundry.

The drama between Brooklyn and his family began when his wife, Nicola, entered the picture. The cracks within the Beckham-Peltz clan began to show when Victoria and her daughter-in-law reportedly clashed over the latter’s wedding dress, which the designer was meant to design.

Nicola ended up wearing a different wedding dress for her 2022 wedding and denied rumors of a dispute with Victoria, but rumors later surfaced to the contrary. More stories of rifts between the duo appeared, with sources accusing Victoria of stealing Nicola’s first dance with Brooklyn, leaving the bride in tears.

PEOPLE reported that Brooklyn confirmed these rumors were true in January 2026, when he called out his parents for trying to ruin his marriage. He slammed Victoria for canceling Nicola’s wedding dress at the last minute and ruining their first dance, adding that he wanted nothing to do with the Beckhams.
