Tyler Perry‘s legal drama continues, with his second sexual assault accuser dragging him over a deposition.

The filmmaker has been embroiled in two sexual assault lawsuits by two male accusers, with the second coming from a man named Mario Rodriguez.

Mario Rodriguez recently accused Tyler Perry of refusing to sit down for a deposition in the case unless a specific question was thrown out. However, the Madea star denied ignoring the summons.

According to new court documents, Rodriguez accused Perry of refusing to sit down for a deposition unless his attorneys promise not to mention his sexual orientation. The accuser implored the court to sanction the filmmaker for not attending the deposition since April.

Rodriguez claimed Perry only agreed to sit down for the deposition if his sexual orientation wasn’t included in the line of questioning. These questions included whether he is, or has been, sexually attracted to men; queries Perry’s side allegedly argued were “irrelevant and inflammatory.”

However, the plaintiff disagreed with the movie producer’s argument, stressing that his sexual orientation was a valid question because of past sexual assault lawsuits from men. Perry was previously accused of assault by a man named Derek Dixon in 2025, the same year Rodriguez dropped his allegations, per TMZ.

Following Rodriguez’s motion to sanction Perry over the deposition, the latter’s attorney, Alex Spiro, defended him via a statement. “As we said from the outset, this is a shakedown and now a shakedown and a frivolous motion,” the legal representative said, adding:

“Tyler did not fail to appear for a deposition nor refuse any line of questioning. We will seek sanctions.”

The sexual assault drama began in December 2025 when Rodriguez sued the movie producer for $77 million in damages. He explained that he first met Perry in 2015 at the gym, which led to a minor role in the entertainer’s “Boo! A Madea Halloween” movie. But that role allegedly came with inappropriate advances.

The first alleged incident occurred at the movie mogul’s home, where Rodriguez claimed he was invited. He recalled them drinking in the kitchen before heading to the home theater to watch a movie, where the filmmaker rubbed his shoulders and chest while moaning.

Rodriguez claimed Perry kept things professional while they were filming the Madea movie and immediately went back to his alleged advances once it was over. Another incident occurred in the producer’s house, where he allegedly grabbed the accuser’s genitals.

Perry, per Rodriguez’s allegations, sent the actor $5,000 after the incident and allegedly apologized. He sent an additional $5,000 after another alleged incident, where the billionaire entrepreneur forced his accuser to touch his private part.

The filmmaker denied all the allegations against him and moved to dismiss the lawsuit in March 2026. The Blast covered the story, reporting that the “Diary of a Mad Black Woman” star slammed the sexual assault lawsuit as another money-grabbing scheme.

His attorneys claimed Rodriguez used him as a walking ATM, begging for financial support to pay for numerous expenses, including his car. However, when the money stopped coming, the plaintiff allegedly started attacking Perry’s image, hoping for a settlement.

The movie producer’s reps defended their case with images of the duo’s alleged text exchange. In these messages, the accuser begged the TV personality for financial aid, claiming he was sick and feared he would die of sepsis like his late father.

Months before facing a second sexual assault lawsuit, The Blast reported that a man named Derek Dixon had accused the actor of unwanted sexual advances. After filing his allegations, Dixon took his claims to national television, a move that placed him on the internet’s radar.

Many were unimpressed by Dixon’s victim tale, slamming him on social media platforms like Instagram, where a clip of the interview was shared. These IG users called BS on the accuser’s story, arguing that his story was full of holes and accusing him of trying to exploit Perry.

Dixon asked for $260 million in his lawsuit, claiming the massive sum wasn’t to fill his pockets but teach Perry a lesson. He accused the movie mogul of unwanted sexual contact, intentional infliction of emotional distress, retaliatory termination, and more.

Will Tyler Perry and his accuser find common ground in the deposition?
