Blake Lively wants to extend her legal battle against Justin Baldoni!

The actress, who made headlines for months over her drama with her “It Ends With Us” co-star, recently filed a request for an extension in her ongoing battle with Baldoni.

Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni became legal opponents in December 2024 when the “Gossip Girl” star accused the actor of sexual harassment and more. He denied the allegations and responded with a defamation lawsuit.

According to new reports, Lively filed an extension request on Tuesday, June 16, imploring the court to grant her more time in her ongoing litigation with Baldoni. The duo is currently butting heads over legal fees, with the actress unable to meet the court’s deadline.

The blonde entertainer explained that she could not meet the June 22 deadline, which was set for the presentation of all her materials to the court. She explained in her letter that she and her lawyers were swamped with other matters unrelated to her case against Baldoni.

Lively, per the letter submitted in New York City federal court, cited a “number of conflicting personal and professional obligations, including international travel.” The Daily Mail noted that she begged the court for an additional seven days, promising to submit her initial brief on June 29.

Lively and her attorneys explained that the seven-day extension was only to submit documents “primarily intended to focus on legal principles.” However, if the court wanted her to submit materials on legal principles and her motion for attorneys’ fees and costs,” a 30-day extension was needed.

If granted, the new submission deadline will be July 15. The actress’s attorneys argued that an extension was crucial to their case because it would give them ample time to gather “supporting invoices and other supporting evidence as to the reasonableness of fees and costs.”

The extension request also dragged Baldoni’s production company, Wayfarer, for allegedly being inconsiderate. Lively’s lawyers claimed she “met and conferred in advance of this request with ‘Wayfarer,’ who objected to any effort to seek clarification or extend any deadlines, including their response deadline.”

Lively’s current litigation with Baldoni over attorney fees began after she suffered a major loss in their legal battle. Days earlier, The Blast reported that the judge in the case had denied Lively’s request to collect punitive or treble damages.

Although she did not receive compensation, the judge held Baldoni liable for her attorneys’ fees. The amount the actor and his Wayfarer company owed was undetermined, leading to another legal ordeal after their initial settlement.

At the time, the judge dismissed the majority of Lively’s allegations against Baldoni, including her sexual harassment claims. Then, the feuding pair were pushed towards resolving their differences outside the court, and they reportedly did so with a settlement that involved no financial exchange.

Following news of Lively and Baldoni’s settlement, the entertainer wasted no time returning to the spotlight. The Blast reported in May that many dubbed her attempts to garner attention a “rehabilitation” tour, believing she wanted to reclaim her former glory.

The TV personality made several dazzling appearances, including a surprise appearance at the 2026 Met Gala just hours after the settlement news dropped. In May, she attended the Gucci High jewelry event in New York City after previously attending a Fendi party.

Lively’s appearances sparked conversation on social media platforms like X, with some fans bashing her. These critics argued that the actress needed better PR agents, as she was attending the wrong events to revamp her image. Others claimed her efforts were in vain, as it was impossible to “rehabilitate” her destroyed image.

Besides clashing with Baldoni, Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, made waves for having massive liens filed against their 110-acre estate in South Salem, New York. The Blast reported that they had $2.1 million in unpaid contractor fees, with one of the largest claims filed by Flower Construction.

The company sued the couple for $1.3 million, claiming they were hired to perform a wide range of work on the property without payment. Other contractors filed liens for unpaid labor against the property, but the fight ended without significant drama.

According to reports, records revealed that the liens filed against the property were settled shortly after the matter became public. Lively and her husband reportedly settled their debts as of May 26, officially ending the dispute with the contractors.
