Melanie Martinez Shares Emotional Tribute To Oliver Tree
Martinez has shared a moving tribute following her ex’s sudden and tragic death at the age of 32. Tree was among six people who lost their lives when two helicopters crashed into each other on Sunday in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Martinez remembered him as a “true artist” with a “soft heart” in a tribute she posted to her Instagram Story on Sunday, per Deadline.
“Been an absolute wreck today,” she wrote. “It’s really hard to understand how someone who you once shared such a specific and formative time of your life with can all of a sudden be gone. He was so dedicated to his art, which I admired and respected so deeply.”
The alt-pop singer continued, “I think everyone who knew him will look back at those moments of laughter and joy he so easily sparked. His laugh was so contagious and warm. His ability to lead creatively and take action while also maintaining a sense of childlike wonder and awe was so inspiring. He had such a soft heart and was a true artist in every way.”
“Rest in peace, Oliver,” Martinez added. “I know you’re making the angels giggle. I’ll be here wondering what stunt and creative project you’re scheming up in heaven. All my love.”

“Thanks for your art, your magic, and your sensibility. Everyone of us will miss you,” Blender said on X.
Rio de Janeiro’s government also took to social media to announce the tragic accident, expressing “solidarity” with the family and friends of the victims. “We express our deep sorrow for the six victims resulting from the accident involving two aircraft in the Southwest Zone of Rio de Janeiro,” the department said in a post on X.

Oliver Tree Said His Money Would Go To Artists

Weeks before his tragic passing, Tree seemingly discussed plans for his will as he insisted his family “won’t get a penny” when he dies.
He made the comments during an April 24 episode of the “Zach Sang Show,” saying, “I don’t believe that any of the wealth, or the things that get made from it, is mine.”
“So, when I die, my will is set up that when I pass, my family, no one’s going to get a penny,” he added.
Although he was single at the time of his death, the “Miss You” singer insisted that if he had “a wife or kids or anything, [they’re] not getting a f-cking penny.”
“I’ll get my kids through college. That’s the agreement,” he continued. “But there’s not going to be a silver spoon. The idea is, when I die, all the money is going to go back to artists.”
