“My body was blowing up, and there was a toxicity of some type of whatever. If it would have erupted, I would have died,” Billy Ray claimed. While struggling to save his life, the singer turned to God and started kneeling on a prayer rock, pleading for a miracle.
Billy Ray told PEOPLE he prayed daily until it was time for his final surgery. “I got to the hospital, they go, ‘Mr. Cyrus, it’s gone, you’re healed.’ [I] had a miracle,” he recalled, noting the news made him dare to dream, hope, love, and even return to music.
