Melania Trump has been the subject of a lot of jokes in recent years, but it seems that “Scary Movie 6” decided that one joke about her was best left on the cutting room floor! Star Anna Faris revealed that she was “always pushing for” her character, Cindy, to be a “classic MAGA,” but the joke didn’t make it to the final cut of the film. Sources indicate that the decision to cut the joke wasn’t politically motivated, but due to pacing.
Anna Faris Reveals The Melania Trump Joke Cut From ‘Scary Movie 6’

“Scary Movie” first hit theaters in 2000 and was such a success that it was followed up by “Scary Movie 2” the following year. “Scary Movie 3” followed in 2003, “Scary Movie 4” in 2006, and “Scary Movie 5” in 2013, meaning the franchise stopped before Donald Trump first took office in 2016.
However, Anna Faris wanted to get a little political in “Scary Movie 6,” which has already made over $50 million at the box office. In a new interview with Dexerto, she revealed that she “was always pushing for Cindy to be classic MAGA rabbit hole.”
She felt that Cindy was “the kind of person that you saw outside of the Walmart during quarantine that was raising some kind of crazy-*ss fuss.”
Melania Trump’s Joke Was Reportedly Not Cut For Political Reasons
Faris described the scene in detail, which involved a parody of Melania Trump’s “Be Best” campaign.
“There was a moment where I am getting wasted, like so drunk… I am in my truck, and I look into the rearview mirror, and I say, ‘Be best, Cindy Campbell. Be best,’” Faris recalled. “That didn’t make it, but I liked my little winking there.”
“You know, what are you gonna do? You gonna be mad at Cindy?” Faris added. “I’m in a movie that is truly the most offensive movie ever made, and I’m the lead of it. And I participate in offensive ideas. I think I can kind of do anything. It liberated me.”
Shortly after the interview aired, sources told TMZ that the joke was cut for pacing, not politics.
Anna Faris Is Grateful For Her Return To ‘Scary Movie 6’

As The Blast previously reported, Faris is grateful to reconnect with the Wayans brothers and return to her comedy roots. “I had been coming around to the idea of Hollywood sort of putting me out to pasture. And that was okay,” Faris told Entertainment Weekly, noting that she got a call from Marlon about the movie only one month after she lost her home in the Palisades Fire in 2025.
“With the house burning down, there was a lot of taking stock. So to have this opportunity to thank them — I got to thank them every day. They were probably really annoyed with me,” Faris joked. She also admitted that this was the first time that she had spoken to any of the Wayans brothers since “Scary Movie 2.”
Although she returned for the third and fourth movies, she didn’t reach out to the Wayans brothers, who were not involved in those films. “I had always wanted to. But honestly, I didn’t know if they were mad at me,” Faris admitted.
The Wayans Brothers Reveal How The Franchise Was ‘Stripped From Us’
In an interview with Variety, Marlon Wayans claimed that he and his brothers were pushed out of the franchise by Bob and Harvey Weinstein after they asked for a raise following the success of the first two films. They also allege that the Weinsteins failed to properly pay them royalties from the first two films.
“They absolutely did [us wrong]. Absolutely,” Wayans said, adding, “We could’ve sued, and we probably would’ve won.” They also claim that the Weinsteins stole their idea for the next film and made the movie without them.
“We didn’t even know,” Wayans told the publication. “We got an announcement on New Year’s Eve that they were doing Scary Movie 3. The franchise was stripped from us. And we were just asking for our fair share.”
“What they did is between them and God,” he added. “I don’t applaud that type of behavior, but I can’t hold hate and hurt in my heart if I want to evolve.”
‘Scary Movie 6’ Was One Of Their Father’s Last Wishes
Elsewhere in the interview, Marlon revealed that one of his father’s last wishes was for him and his brothers to “work together again.”
“When Jon [current Miramax CEO Jonathan Glickman] hit me up to do ‘Scary Movie,’ I was like, ‘I can’t do this without my brothers,’ so I got Shawn and Keenen on board,” Wayans recalled. “This is a return back to the franchise we all created, so forget all the bad years! This isn’t ‘Scary Movie 6′; this is a reboot.”
At this time, it remains unclear if they plan to continue the franchise with “Scary Movie 7,” but given the success of horror films like “Obsession” and “Backrooms” at the box office, fans are hoping to see the Wayans brothers reunite for at least one more film.
