Sharon Stone walked away from her second marriage as part of putting her health first!

The American actress revealed that a cancer scare literally broke her marriage apart because she and her former husband were on different pages when it was time to move forward with possible treatment options.

Sharon Stone’s second marriage was to journalist and editor Phil Bronstein from 1998 to 2004, and they adopted a son together in 2000 before cracks began to show in the marriage, leading to a separation in 2003.

Appearing on David Begnaud’s podcast, the media personality revealed that back in the early 2000s, tumors were discovered in her breasts, and the doctors had strongly advised that she consider a major surgery.

She noted that the doctors were almost certain it was going to be cancerous, hence the suggestion. The actress revealed that she was, however, very certain that her tumors were benign, and she reiterated this to the doctors several times, while deciding to go in for the surgery.

Unfortunately for the actress, her then-husband was not in on the plan to get surgery. According to her, her former husband made it clear he did not support her decision and stormed out of the room.

Stone and the host both agreed that the actress’ partner was more concerned about having both her breasts removed than the fact that she could be down with cancer.

Even when the decision became emotional, Stone affirmed that she still put her foot down, and her doctor also fell in line, encouraging her then-husband to respect her decision.

The actress continued that the moment marked a definite turning point in the relationship as she realized the emotional side was gone, and her independence to make decisions for herself created a crack that never healed.

Fortunately for Stone, she did not get the double mastectomy done, and the tumors did end up being benign. According to PEOPLE, her romantic exploits have earned some level of success decades after ending her second marriage.

She revealed that she linked up with a convicted felon and a person with a heroin addiction, whom she met at different times. The actress met the latter at the Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles, but she could not wait till the end of the meeting after she had a glass of water.

However, these happenings have not stopped Stone from being so generous with her requirements for a partner, noting that she does not look for anything special, because connections these days are so random.

“You don’t look for a list, and then your list arrives. That’s what people do who don’t have relationships. So that they can comfort themselves with the fact that they don’t have a relationship and feel that they’re actively making an effort towards that happening in their lives,” the actress concluded.

Earlier in the year, The Blast shared that the actress got candid about the inspiration behind her growing passion for painting. Stone admitted that grief, loss, and pain all came together to kickstart her curiosity to explore and express with paint.

In recent years, the actress shared that she has found herself dealing with the loss of several family members and loved ones in a unique way, which transformed the way she connects with art.

Stone noted that creating portraits in between acting projects has become a hobby heavily guided by a spiritual force and presence bigger than herself.

The actress added that her strong beliefs in a universal consciousness allow her to feel a connection with something bigger than her.

Ultimately, Stone is super grateful for the opportunity to create pieces that carry a deeper emotional meaning, which allows for a unique connection with so many people.

From dealing with a cancer scare, exiting an unsettling marriage, to making an impressive comeback from a stroke, the actress has been through it all and is still standing.

Last year, she went down memory lane about a crushing family secret that nearly all her siblings and her late mother fell victim to from their grandfather. She spoke about the legacy of abuse subtly passed down by her maternal grandfather, laced with violence and predatory displays.

As reported by The Blast, Stone recalled her mother being beaten from early childhood till she was old enough to leave home at just nine years old. The actress and her sister also had to deal with the same abuse from their grandfather at a very young age.

Stone, however, experienced a beautiful bond with her father; they became very inseparable, and this relationship helped her navigate a male-dominated world. The actress suffered from a devastating stroke in 2021, which nearly took her life and left her financially drained.
