Taking to Instagram, Appleton shared photos from the makeover, while reflecting on what the moment meant to him personally.
“As a kid growing up in England, Britney Spears was the soundtrack to so many moments,” the hairstylist wrote.
He admitted that he never imagined he would one day style the singer’s hair, joking that in this case Spears was “standing behind mine.” Appleton also praised the singer for more than her superstar status.
“Some moments really do come full circle. She is not only an icon, but one of the most genuinely kind and gentle souls I’ve ever met,” he added.
The post quickly drew attention from several celebrities, including Kim Kardashian, who reacted with two arrow heart emojis.
Appleton’s celebrity client roster already includes Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Jennifer Lopez, Nicole Kidman, Martha Stewart, Drew Barrymore, Christina Aguilera, Chrishell Stause, and Bethenny Frankel, making Spears the latest high-profile name to step into his chair.

Kim later opened up about spending time with Spears during an episode of “Khloé in Wonder Land.”

Britney Spears Avoided Jail After Accepting DUI Plea Deal
Spears’ makeover comes less than a month after she accepted a plea deal connected to her March 4 DUI arrest.
Rather than face jail time, the 44-year-old agreed to the lesser charge of “wet reckless,” which involves reckless driving involving alcohol and/or drugs.
As part of the agreement, Spears received 12 months of probation instead of jail time. The “Gimme More” singer is now prohibited from possessing drugs without a valid prescription and must complete a DUI class while paying state-mandated fines.
If she fails to comply with those conditions, she could still face jail time. Spears is also required to continue meeting with a psychologist once per week and a psychiatrist twice per month.
The singer had reportedly left a treatment center 21 days into a planned 30-day rehab stay before the plea agreement was finalized. Her attorney, Michael Goldstein, later addressed the outcome publicly.
“Through her plea today, Britney has accepted responsibility for her conduct,” Goldstein told TMZ. He added that Spears “has taken significant steps to implement positive change,” which he said was reflected in prosecutors reducing the charge and dismissing the DUI accusation.
“Britney appreciates this discretion and is also grateful for the outpouring of support she has received,” he added.

Even amid personal challenges, Britney Spears has continued to expand her brand beyond music. Last October, the songwriter revealed plans to launch her jewelry line, B. Tiny, “soon.”
