Justin Baldoni may take the unfamiliar road after his legal episode with Blake Lively!

Reports from the director’s team have suggested that the public may get to see him in a very strange light now that the storm of his back and forth with his co-star is partly over, although his new role is also expected to yield some positive fruits.

Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively are currently back in court to hash out the claims of damages on the latter’s part over the former’s $400 million dismissed defamation lawsuit.

While catching up with the press outside a New York courthouse on Monday, June 1, Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, hinted that his client, the actor, could decide to explore the advocacy side of things as the next phase of his life.

According to him, he would use this path to give people who have been falsely accused a well-deserved voice and attention.

Freedman made the comments ahead of the latest court proceedings connected to the ongoing legal debacle involving Lively.

He continued that the actor will return to work soon, whether in the entertainment industry or ensuring people who carry some grievances towards unequal power dynamics are given a chance to seek justice.

The potential shift is a reflection of Baldoni’s stance on the legal battle, where he has insisted that he was wrongly accused and left to grapple with the consequences on his life and professional career.

Freedman also reported that the past year and a half have been emotionally difficult for Baldoni as he continues to work through the aftermath of the legal battle.

The latest court appearance came as both sides squabbled over attorney fees and litigation costs in relation to Lively’s “It Ends With Us” legal fight, which was settled.

According to TMZ, Baldoni’s future is still unclear, but, as his legal team says, the experience has left an indelible mark and could influence whatever comes next.

The media personality confirmed that her episode with the director was far from finished as she returned to court to seek a financial settlement to cover the attorney fees and court costs incurred from Baldoni’s 9-figure defamation suit.

As noted by The Blast, Lively’s requests were precise, and they included treble and punitive damages. While the exact amount remained undisclosed, if she wins her requests, the director may dole out tens of millions of dollars to offset the costs spent on legal fees, as they were both believed to have splurged about $60 million on that aspect.

The latest court battle stemmed from a dispute that began after Lively accused Baldoni of sexual harassment and alleged he launched a smear campaign after she raised concerns about his conduct on set.

Lively’s new pursuit is heavily backed by California law introduced in 2023 during the “MeToo” era to protect people who report sexual misconduct from retaliatory defamation lawsuits.

As the legal issues surrounding “It Ends With Us” played out, words filtered out that Baldoni had already begun to brainstorm his next project.

Insiders revealed that Baldoni and his company, Wayfarer Studios, still owned the rights to expand the franchise and had initiated early talks regarding a sequel titled “It Starts with Us.”

As stated by The Blast, the reports come after months of legal wrangling, media interest, and industry speculation about the stars of the film. Sources noted that Baldoni had begun to focus his efforts on rebuilding professionally and returning to his creative pursuits.

However, the feud did not just end with Baldoni and Lively, as it brought into the spotlight other people in their circle, including Ryan Reynolds and Taylor Swift, as well as raising the possibility that the feud could sour future episodes.

The fans wondered if the franchise would be able to survive the controversy. However, one source reiterated that Baldoni was still on the fence about whether he would continue the story even if the next arc ended up being different than the original cast dynamic.

When it comes to his creative pursuits, another source shared that Baldoni sees the “It Ends With Us” franchise as bigger than any controversy and wants attention to shift back to the story itself.

Hence, his interest in advancing the project remains intact, and he believes his audience feels the same way, especially after the rollercoaster over the years.

The burning question, however, remains whether Lively would be interested in reprising her role as Lily Bloom. Reports from close sources suggested that a reunion may happen between the co-stars, and Baldoni himself is not ruling anything out if it will help grow the franchise.

The update came after Lively and Baldoni reportedly settled at no financial cost to either party. In a joint statement, the duo affirmed that the film and its message around domestic violence remained a poignant aspect of the project alongside support for upholding safe workplace environments.

Now that most of the dust around her case with Baldoni has settled, Lively is reportedly hopeful she can rebuild her friendship with Swift after months of strain.

The actress and the singer, once known for their close bond, reportedly grew apart after Swift’s name surfaced repeatedly during the public dispute. The pair have not been seen together since.

Now, with Lively and Baldoni reportedly reaching a settlement, insiders claim she believes there is finally room to repair the relationship and move forward. Sources revealed Lively remains confident enough about a future reconciliation that she has even imagined attending Swift’s upcoming wedding to Travis Kelce.

However, insiders noted that the media personality understands that rebuilding trust may not happen immediately but believes the end of the legal drama could create space for healing over time.

“She knows not everything snaps back overnight. But Blake believes removing the chaos changes everything. She thinks once the noise is gone, there’s room for real healing,” the source shared.
