Mackenzie Shirilla may be having too much fun in her prison uniform.
The 21-year-old has reportedly been indulging in questionable acts already, as she serves out her two concurrent 15-years-to-life sentences, which come with the possibility of parole after 15 years. She was connected for crashing her car into a brick wall, claiming the lives of her boyfriend, Dominic Russo, and friend, Davion Flanagan.
While Mackenzie Shirilla still has a long way to go with her time behind bars, an appeal for early parole may not be feasible as she allegedly shows no remorse for her actions nor takes accountability for the tragic incident.
Mackenzie Shirilla Is Reportedly Involved In Shady Jail Business

Shirilla appears not to have been keeping a clean slate during her time behind bars. The prison officials have revealed that she has committed a number of rule violations, including several of a sexual nature.
TMZ has obtained court reports about a handful of alleged rule violations attached to the convicted young adult’s name, committed within her time in jail, which include altering prison clothes and possessing contraband.
For instance, the prison officials disclosed that they caught Shirilla with a prescription medication that was not prescribed to her in January 2025. They also have her on the record with “a personal photo of herself containing drug use.”
However, Shirilla defended herself to the authorities, debunking the officials’ reports. In her statement on the incident, she told the cops that the photo did not have drug use in it and maintained that the pills they found in her possession were actually prenatal vitamins she got from someone else.
Shirilla Also Engaged In Sexually Explicit Acts

Prison officers revealed that, in addition to the contraband substances, they caught Shirilla with four nude magazine photos, although she neither confirmed nor denied having these photos. She also allegedly engaged in a sexually explicit video call with a visitor.
During the call, authorities say the 21-year-old showed her breasts to the visitor, and they returned the favor, showing Shirilla “her breast with a dildo sticking out of her pants twice,” before finally walking fully into frame, completely in the nude. Officers say she admitted guilt on this allegation.
Her list of sexual misconduct does not end there. In August 2025, an officer claims to have seen another inmate grabbing Shirilla’s ass, which counts as a form of consensual sexual conduct that violates the rules. She, however, denied being intimate with the other inmate.
The Ohio native has also allegedly made explicit comments about a prison employee. Reports show that she once told an officer, “If [the employee] got a boner from the way I’m dressed, that’s his fault.” The cops swung into action after hearing her comment, revealing that they her into the bathroom to ensure she was properly dressed under a hoodie.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard Says Shirilla Can Kiss Early Parole Goodbye

Blanchard is no stranger to the four walls of prison, as she was convicted of second-degree murder of her mother in 2016 and was sentenced to ten years behind bars.
She recently weighed in on Shirilla’s case based on her experience in jail and with the law, stating that she does not believe her sentence would be overturned.
She shared her thoughts in a recent interview, explaining that while Shirilla would be eligible to stand before the Ohio parole board by 2037, there is a high chance she would not get early parole because she has shown little to no remorse for her actions.
Blanchard explained that the parole board considers the inmate’s behavior behind bars, safe to say she is not winning in that category, as well as the feelings of the victim’s family and the convicted individual’s remorse.
The 34-year-old highlighted that if the victim’s family were to write against her, that would be an automatic ticket back to jail, squashing any hopes of an early release.
The Blast detailed that according to Blanchard, Shirilla needs to use her time behind bars as a catalyst to grow up and take accountability for her actions.
Dominic Russo’s Sister Says Shirilla’s Parents Enable Their Daughter’s Acts
The older sister of Dominic, Christine Russo, says she believes Shirilla’s parents, Steve and Natalie, have shown no remorse and continue to defend their daughter.
During the trial, which landed the then-17-year-old a long sentence, prosecutors argued Shirilla intentionally drove her car at nearly 100 mph into a brick wall in Strongsville, Ohio, on July 31, 2022, in an attempt to kill her boyfriend amid their strained relationship.
Reports show that Dominic and Flanagan, who were in the back seat, died instantly, while Shirlla sustained injuries. Christine expressed her feelings after “The Crash,” a Netflix documentary detailing the incident and case, aired.
PEOPLE reported that in the documentary, Steve defended his daughter’s marijuana use, dismissing allegations that she bullied other students in school, and suggesting she suffered a medical emergency and lost consciousness at the time of the fatal crash.
“There is a fine line between defending your kids,” Christine said before adding, “And they created a monster; they’re monsters themselves.” She also said that Shirilla has yet to take accountability or responsibility for her actions.
Mackenzie Shirilla Says Thoughts Of The Crash Makes Her Sick To Her Stomach

TMZ shared that, according to an undated jail audio between the 21-year-old and her mother, she addressed the psychological aftermath of the fatal accident. She is heard telling Natalie that she is constantly haunted by the mere thought of the crash, which often makes her want to puke.
She also said that she struggles with the thought that she survived the crash while Dominic and Flanagan kicked the bucket instantly. “How did I not die?” she asks before revealing she regularly has intrusive thoughts about their injuries.
Shirilla told her mom that most nights she spends her time lying awake as vivid images suddenly pop into her head. She also often recalled descriptions she heard about her late boyfriend and friend’s conditions after the crash. From her description, she is bearing a heavy emotional weight that she now has to live with for the rest of her life.
Will Mackenzie Shirilla adjust her ways before time for parole?
