“I say it all the time: I’m just a kid from the Heights living the dream. I credit every good thing in my life to Cleveland and being raised here with the values and the people and the work ethic,” he noted. “Cleveland Heights is such a diverse and dynamic place. Every friend, neighbor, teacher, and teammate — they all made me the man I am today.”

He raved about the Cleveland mentality that is fueled by sheer confidence and responsibility, adding that by coming on board with the Guardians, he plans to spend time learning and supporting the franchise however he can.

As noted by ESPN, Kelce tagged himself a lifelong fan of the Guardians and reminisced about attending games during Cleveland baseball’s dominant run in the 1990s. 

He named former stars like Kenny Lofton, Carlos Baerga, Jim Thome, and Sandy Alomar Jr. as some of the players who made those memories unforgettable.
