Tom Hardy has reportedly been fired from “MobLand” and will not feature in the third season of the gritty crime drama for his unbecoming attitude towards crew members.

The actor had a similar fallout with Charlize Theron on the set of “Mad Max Fury,” where he came late to set and got involved in several heated arguments with her.

Reports also recently suggested that Tom Hardy was going on a major career break to get a much-needed test and spend more time with his family.

Why Tom Hardy Was Fired From ‘MobLand’

Hardy has reportedly been fired from “MobLand” following a series of intense altercations with the film’s producers. The latest development means that he’ll not feature in upcoming seasons, as sources suggest he has become difficult to work with.

Hardy, who plays the role of fixer Harry Da Souza alongside Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren, was also accused of turning up late to set and attempting to change some lines during filming. He seemingly pushed his luck further by offering unsolicited notes on the script, leaving crew members dissatisfied.

According to the Daily Mail, sources claim he became disgruntled about how the series was becoming more about his co-stars Mirren and Brosnan, as well as having clashes with producer Jez Butterworth, who happened to threaten him amid high tensions.

“I’m told Paramount recently opted not to pick up Hardy for season three,” a Puck newsletter said.

It also noted that there were “clashes with producers Jez Butterworth and David Glasser, among others, during the recent production of season two,” leading to them becoming fed up with him.

Although a third season hasn’t been officially announced, it is very unlikely the series will end naturally with its second season, especially when considering the massive success it has enjoyed.

The Actor Had A Similar Fallout With Actress Charlize Theron

Hardy’s sudden termination comes roughly 11 years after his notoriously volatile behavior during the filming of the 2015 blockbuster “Mad Max: Fury Road” made global headlines.

At the time, reports suggested that he was involved in several shouting matches with co-star Charlize Theron, who accused him of coming very late to set and called him a “f-cking c-nt.”

New York Times columnist Kyle Buchanan claimed in “Blood, Sweat, and Chrome: The Wild and True Story of Mad Max: Fury Road,” that Theron was “scared sh-tless” of his “aggressive” behavior and had to get a female producer to be with her at all times for “protection.”

Things were so bad that director George Miller later revealed he had to be “coaxed out of his trailer” to work, per Variety.

Hardy later owned up to his bad behavior, admitting that he should have done better in hindsight.

“In hindsight, I was in over my head in many ways. The pressure on both of us was overwhelming at times,” the actor told Buchanan about his clash with Thereon. “What she needed was a better, perhaps more experienced partner in me.”

He added, “That’s something that can’t be faked. I’d like to think that now that I’m older and uglier, I could rise to that occasion.”

The Actor Could Be Away From The Screen For A While

How much this latest setback will impact his career remains to be seen, but regardless, fans will not be seeing him for a while because he’s understood to be taking a break to rest.

Over the years, Hardy has starred in hit action films like “Venom,” “Mad Max: Fury Road,” and “Taboo,” but the rigors seem to have taken a toll on him.

Sources told the Daily Mail that he “is to take a sabbatical,” and could be away for the foreseeable future.

Although they claimed the break was for him to rest, the Oscar-nominated actor had previously complained about the effect his strenuous roles had taken on him.

Reports of Hardy taking a break from acting came after he shared during an interview with Esquire that his body was in bad shape.

“I’ve had two knee surgeries now, my disc’s herniated in my back, I’ve got sciatica as well… It’s all falling to bits now, and it’s not going to get better,” the actor revealed.

Now, sources claim he’s looking to spend more time with his wife, Charlotte Riley, and their 2 children, after dedicating the majority of the past years to his craft.

“Tom is one of the busiest men in the filming industry,” an insider said. “Charlotte must never see him, but now she won’t be able to get enough of him.”
