The pro-athlete and his then-lover, Jaclyn Cordeiro, were first linked in 2022 and have fostered a loving and family-oriented relationship over the years with their children. The pair, who bonded over their shared love for an active lifestyle, is said to have split amicably with no bad blood between them. 

This breakup joins the long list of Alex Rodriguez’s failed relationships. The MLB star, who is a father to two daughters, has been linked to several A-listers but has only tied the knot once in his lifetime.

Alex Rodriguez’s Relationship Ends With ‘No Drama’

The former professional baseball shortstop and his fitness instructor girlfriend have gone their separate ways following a three-year-long relationship.

The former lovers are still keeping love and respect at the center of it all, even though they have pulled out all efforts to keep their romance aflame.

Cordeiro shared that they are currently taking some time apart, but mutual love, deep respect, and care still exist between them and their families.

Speaking to TMZ, she said, “We remain supportive of one another, and there is absolutely no animosity, drama, or negative story here.” 

The fitness instructor did not state the reason for their split, but noted that she is currently “navigating a serious health matter involving a family member.” That health matter has a strong hold on her focus. She also stated that their relationship is not just going down the drain in light of this breakup.

Jaclyn Cordeiro Wants Outlets To Respect Their Privacy

“Alex and I continue to be very close, and out of respect for everyone involved, especially our daughters and loved ones, I’d kindly ask that any reporting reflects the compassion and privacy this situation deserves,” the mom of two expressed.

Cordeiro is a proud mom to two daughters, Bella and Savanah, whom she shares with her ex, Laureano Cordeiro. Similarly, Rodriguez welcomed two daughters, Natasha and Ella, from his previous marriage to Cynthia Scurtis, which ended in 2008.

The former lovers have been spotted spending quality time like a blended family with each other’s kids since they went public with their relationship in 2023.

A source close to the former baseball player revealed that they have been apart for about two months, echoing Cordeiro’s words that there is nothing but mutual respect between them.

The Former Lovers Aligned Over Love For Fitness

Rodriguez and Cordeiro were first romantically linked in October 2022, when they were spotted walking down Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, California.

They quickly bonded over their devotion to family, parenting, and love for an active lifestyle since they are both athletic. Besides having two daughters each in common, they are both reportedly “fitness-obsessed and into exercise and bodybuilding.”

The couple has shared photos and videos of their workouts together online. In December 2022, a source told PEOPLE that Cordeiro’s interests align with what the baseball shortstop typically looks for in a partner. In their words:

“He would not date anyone for a few months or longer who was not into daily fitness. It is a major part of his life.”

Since going Instagram official, they have been spotted going out and about together, especially at sports events. The former lovers watched a Minnesota Timberwolves game together and attended the 2023 Super Bowl as a couple. 

Last year, Cordeiro joined her then-lover and his family at the New York City premiere of his documentary series “Alex vs ARod.”

The pro-athlete began dating Jennifer Lopez in 2017, with an insider sharing that they had so much in common, including their Latin roots.

The relationship took a beautiful turn two years later, and they announced their engagement. The romance became history after Page Six exclusively revealed that they had called it quits in March 2021.

The father of two also dated wrestler/model Torrie Wilson in late 2011, and they were often spotted working out together. The love swiveled about three years later because he was not ready to settle down with Wilson.

The former New York Yankees player was linked to iconic actress Cameron Diaz between 2010 and 2011. During that time, she reportedly moved to Miami to be closer to Rodriguez after meeting and bonding with his daughters.

Just as Rodriguez faced challenges with his romantic relationship, he also dealt with complications in friendships. The father of two passed a hot knife through his relationship with a fellow baseball player, Derek Jeter, after he made a controversial remark during an interview in 2001.

During the infamous Esquire interview, Rodriguez praised Jeter for his talent but also shut down the praise with words many believed were overly critical.

“Jeter’s been blessed with great talent around him; he’s never had to lead. He can just go and play and have fun. He hits second – that’s totally different than third or fourth in a lineup,” he said before adding that Jeter was no competition on the field.

The Blast reported that Jeter addressed the comments in later years, noting that he felt deeply hurt by the words because of the trust and loyalty he had in Rodriguez. “This is how the guy feels. He’s not a true friend, is how I felt. Because I wouldn’t do it to a friend,” Jeter explained.

The father of two admitted that he apologized for the way the story was portrayed in the media; however, he still stood by his words.
