The sizzling Instagram upload comes as Larsson gears up for a major career milestone. The pop star is officially set to co-headline the opening night of “All Things Go NYC,” the New York City edition of the popular D.C.-area music festival, which returns this fall for its third year.

Taking place September 25–27 at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, the three-day event recently unveiled its women-and-women-first lineup, with Larsson landing one of the festival’s biggest spots.

Larsson and Lola Young are slated to headline day one, alongside appearances from Rebecca Black and Cara Delevingne. The performance also marks a huge moment for Larsson, as it will be her first-ever festival headlining gig.

The exciting announcement comes shortly after the singer released her “Midnight Sun (Girls Trip)” remix album, continuing a busy year for the pop powerhouse.

While Larsson may currently be riding a wave of fan praise, the singer recently admitted she knows how quickly internet love can turn into criticism. During an interview with Paper Magazine, the pop star reflected on the pressures women face online, explaining that social media often builds female artists up only to tear them down just as quickly.

“I’m very aware of that,” Larsson admitted, referencing a quote by Taylor Swift she recently discussed. “‘They want to see you rise, but they don’t want to see you reign.’ It’s true.”

The singer explained that over the past several months, she has intentionally embraced being viewed as an underdog, knowing public perception inevitably shifts as success grows. “I really tried to stay in the positive light of someone who is on the come up and an underdog, because I know in my world, in my dream, I’m not going to be an underdog forever,” she said. “And I feel like once you start getting a lot of negativity, or people try to pull you down, it really is just a proof of success.”

Larsson even admitted she’s already seeing signs of backlash, particularly surrounding her song “Midnight Sun.” “I’m really excited for that day,” she joked. “Even now I’m starting to get like comments that are like, I’m so f-cking tired of this song, when it comes to ‘Midnight Sun.'”

Still, the singer said she tries not to let negativity consume her, instead focusing on authenticity and encouraging critics to channel their energy elsewhere. “At the end of the day, it’s like, actually none of my business, and all I can do is just to get it out to as many people as possible in the most authentic way I can, which is by just being me,” Larsson explained.

“I think people who are really negative, I have a really hard time picturing them,” she continued. “Like, instead of spreading all this, why don’t you just go and draw a painting, make a song, do a dance?”

And if Larsson’s recent success is any indication, the singer seems more focused on enjoying the ride than worrying about the noise that comes with it.
