As Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce continue to gear up to walk down the aisle, they have one important bridge to cross before reaching the finish line!

A prenuptial agreement has been the backbone of numerous celebrity marriages, but some stars choose to skip this route. Whether Swift and Kelce opt for this option remains to be seen, but sources say they have multiple location options available.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have been making waves as a couple since 2023. The NFL star popped the big question in 2025, officially making them one of the richest couples in the world with their combined net worth.

According to new reports, Swift and Kelce may be considering several locations to draft a prenuptial agreement before their wedding ceremony. A prenup seems to be the likely choice for the duo, given the millions at stake; however, they may choose to skip this route.

If Swift and Kelce do choose to sign a prenup, sources claim they will not do so in California. With the state out of the picture, TMZ notes that the couple has ties to other states such as Rhode Island, Missouri, Kansas, Tennessee, and New York.

The “Bad Blood” hitmaker reportedly has property in Rhode Island and New York, as well as deep ties to Tennessee. On the other hand, Kelce recently purchased a home in Kansas and plays football in Missouri. The state the duo chooses will likely fit their prenup demands.

Rhode Island May Be The Couple’s Best Choice

According to the outlet, the laws governing prenups vary from state to state. Nonetheless, the law of the state where the prenup is drafted is typically enforced regardless of where the couple ends up living. In Swift and Kelce’s case, they may be looking for a state that strongly enforces the prenup terms.

Swift and Kelce may likely want a state that protects separate property, gives the court less leeway to rewrite agreements, and provides no long-term spousal support. On that note, Rhode Island seems to be their best bet, particularly because of the singer’s billionaire status.

New York may not work out as judges there are infamously known for scrutinizing prenups and sometimes invalidating them. Kansas is also a good choice, with its prenup-friendly laws and respect for separate property. Additionally, Tennessee and Missouri are more favorable than New York in prenup arrangements.

A prenup seems like an important step for Swift and Kelce before their marriage, given the significant difference in their net worth. International Business Times reported that Swift’s net worth has increased to $2 billion, while Kelce’s net worth is approximately $90 million.

Swift built her billion-dollar fortune through music, with her Eras Tour generating more than $1 billion in revenue alone. Her wealth further increased through her ownership of masters through re-recordings, and the value of her catalog is estimated at around $600-900 million.

Swift also generates income through merchandise, brand partnerships, and real estate holdings exceeding $100 million. On the other hand, Kelce built his $90 million net worth through a combination of NFL earnings, endorsements, and media ventures.

Kelce may not be as rich as his fiancée, but that hasn’t stopped him from splurging on her. Page Six recently reported that Swift owns a suite of jewelry once owned by entertainment icon Elizabeth Taylor, and her beau is most likely the one who purchased the stunning gems for her.

Over the past several weeks, Swift rocked pieces for the opal jewelry set to various outings before finally donning the full collection on Saturday night. The weekend outing with Kelce saw Swift wearing both bracelets, a set of matching chandelier earrings, and the ring from Taylor’s collection.

Fox Estate Jewelry’s Adam Fox sold the collection via 1stDibs in 2025 for $125,000 to a sports agent and theorized that Kelce had purchased the set for Swift. If he did, it shows how romantic Kelce is, as Swift’s “The Life of a Showgirl” album features a song inspired by Taylor. Additionally, opal is Kelce’s birthstone and Swift’s favorite gem.

Despite living in the spotlight, Swift and Kelce have managed to keep their wedding preparations under lock and key. The Blast reported days earlier that sources claimed Swift had opted out of a key wedding tradition to maintain the secrecy of her plans with Kelce.

Instead of the typical wedding invite, sources alleged that Swift was calling guests to avoid the information getting leaked. She and members of her team were in charge of the calls, reportedly only telling guests about the wedding without giving too many details.

Because of the lack of a full picture, sources noted that guests had to keep their schedules flexible as they did not know the exact date or location for the wedding. However, sources alleged that Swift and Kelce would definitely tie the knot this summer.
