Pete Davidson may be newly single, but according to insiders, the comedian is handling his breakup from Elsie Hewitt surprisingly well. Just days after reports surfaced that the former couple called it quits five months after welcoming daughter Scottie Rose, sources close to the “Saturday Night Live” alum claim Pete Davidson is in a much better place than fans may expect.
Pete Davidson Reportedly ‘Has Never Sounded Better’

Despite his very public split, insiders say Davidson has been thriving in recent days. A source close to the comedian told Page Six that Davidson, who has openly discussed his struggles with depression over the years, “has never sounded better than he has this week.”
The insider also claimed Davidson is still riding high from his recent appearance on Netflix’s “The Roast of Kevin Hart,” which premiered last week. “Pete was really funny, and no one took shots at him,” the source shared.
According to the insider, Davidson’s close circle has rallied around him during the breakup. “The support he’s gotten from people has been great. Everyone at the roast was his friends. He’s getting tons of support,” they added.
Davidson Is Focused On Supporting Elsie Hewitt And Their Daughter

Even amid the breakup, sources say Davidson is prioritizing Hewitt and their baby girl. “He’s always been consistently supportive. He wants her to be in a good place. There’s a baby involved, and that’s their priority,” one insider shared.
Davidson and Hewitt welcomed daughter Scottie in December, just months before their relationship reportedly came to an end. Though the pair are said to be focused on co-parenting, insiders claim reconciliation is not in the cards.
Pete Davidson And Elsie Hewitt Are ‘Done’

According to another source, the relationship had been struggling for some time before the split became official. “They are done. There have been problems throughout their relationship, and things are not good between them at all. They haven’t been for a while,” the insider claimed. “They tried working things out but decided it was best to go their separate ways.”
Another source described the breakup as a relationship that had simply “run its course,” though Davidson’s demanding work schedule reportedly created additional strain. “When he was away, he’d try to be home for a couple of days, or she’d visit, but they definitely had their issues. Ultimately, [the relationship had] run its course,” the source explained.
Davidson Is Reportedly Paying For Elsie Hewitt And Baby Scottie’s Expenses

Despite the split, Davidson is reportedly still stepping up financially. A source close to the former couple told Page Six that the comedian has been doing everything he can to support Hewitt and Scottie during the transition. “Pete is doing everything to be super supportive to Elsie, he’s changed his schedule, and done everything he can to be there physically and financially so Elsie can feel supported,” the insider claimed.
The source also alleged that Davidson has been covering expenses tied to both Hewitt and their daughter. “Pete has been paying for everything related to Elsie and Scottie,” including “the rent, their living expenses, their health insurance.”
According to the insider, while there may have been “personal disagreements” and a “breakdown in the relationship,” Davidson remains “fully committed to being a good dad.”
Pete Davidson Previously Called Fatherhood ‘F-cking Awesome’

Long before news of the breakup surfaced, Davidson was openly gushing about becoming a dad and how much fatherhood had already changed him. “Dad life is f-cking awesome,” Davidson told PEOPLE while discussing his Crocs campaign. “It is exhausting and rewarding and cute, and I’m very lucky because Elsie is a fantastic mom, and I can’t stress enough how lucky I am.”
“And what’s also cool is you get to watch someone come into this other role, and it’s so nice to see. It’s very rewarding to see the person you chose to have a baby with actually crush it so naturally,” he continued. “And so Scottie’s very lucky in that way. So we’re having a blast. It’s really cute, and it’s fun to dress up a little baby.”
At the time, Davidson made it clear that despite the sleepless nights and adjustments that come with parenting, embracing life as a father had quickly become one of his favorite roles yet.
